I don’t think any generation is particularly good or bad of their own doing. They are the output of their circumstances. Everyone has weaknesses. Everyone has strengths.

Being liberal is a good thing, even G-d says so.



Where people go wrong, is that they mistake redistribution for being liberal.

To be liberal is to give of yourself and your possessions to meet the needs that you are able, willingly.

Abrogating that duty and giving it over to government is redistribution at the point of the gun.

I was just using your word. Redistribution is a liberal progressive idea. It appeals to them because they have a keen sense of moral equality. To them it is immoral to have a society of rich people when there are poor people in need. But they don’t have a keen sense of reciprocal fairness morality, which is that you should work for what you have and when you’ve earned something you should get to keep it.
