    I keep getting this weather service text update about local flood warnings.
    I suppose we got more than it seemed at first.
    We finally had some of that rain you all have been discussing. Pretty heavy yesterday evening and over the night.
    I'll be heading down in an hrs or so to check the river.

    We finally had some of that rain you all have been discussing. Pretty heavy yesterday evening and over the night.
    I'll be heading down in an hrs or so to check the river.
    In the deep south, checking the river after a big rain meant no fishing pole, but a rifle.
    Just in case you spot a big gar that got stirred up.
    It was legal back then.

    Addendum:
    Gar is good eatin' BTW. Taste a little like gator, but more tender.
