Lightning struck a small rise in the fairway out back, maybe 100yrds away. It gets hit often.
    It was 3:26AM.
Wife had just returned from work shortly before and she didn't wake me much, except to share some closeness.
I bounded straight out of bed!
    She said, "That was close!"

I just said I really needed to pee, did so, but then went straight back to sleep for another hour and a half while it poured down rain.
    Magical sleep weather!

It did not cool off as much as I had expected, still showing 68F out back.
Mother nature took it off the top instead of the lows. It's only suppose to hit 80F this afternoon, with more rain predicted.

I'm skeptical of our rain chances. They were saying the eastern part of the state has the best chance.

I need to water this morning. We didn't get enough rain to make a difference.
We seemed to get ours in short patchy blasts of fury, then drizzles.
Pretty sure the total will add up to a good portion of your 1.7" predicted yesterday.

I was down and felt the door open about 9PM. I asked Son if he was getting the dog out again. He told me no, he had to take pictures of the sunset.
    OK, that's unusual for him!
    But the sunset WAS spectacular.
