OK...well when you decide...let the rest of us know a couple of days ahead of time so some of us less fortunate working stiffs ;) can try to adjust schedules. I think you're going to cut yourselves out of a lot of support announcing this last minute. But I understand. :dunno: I just don't agree. As I said...what is being proposed is completely legal.

Maybe we can have an email list and we can discus time and date on that. This will blow up though, if we are replying to all and everyone does it...Its a thought. We could get the emails through PMs

    I'm interested.

I suggest we do a PM arrangement for times and dates with all interested. PM's do multiple recipients. Leave out anyone who registered with these forums since, say, the beginning of August to avoid unsafe interlopers.

To keep things simple, Savage takes charge of the group PMs, and we all respond with simple answers to keep the organizing free of clutter.

Question: should a participant need to have a sling to bring a long gun? I don't have any slinged gun except for an HP 995. Not sure what kind of response a HP would get :):

I think it is obvious since we have already stated that pistols should stay holstered, this is no different than you normal carry gun!

Asked to leave by whom? Me, Savage, others. If you at the range and someone sweeps you, do you just let it go or ask them not to? It is the point that it's a public place and everyone has the absolute legal right to be there, however it is our duty as gunowners to ensure proper firearm handling, ESPECIALLY IN PUBLIC!!!

    I see.

So will we be inspected for proper holsters, slings, papers, and ammo placement? Will Uncle Mike's holsters on a skinny belt be allowed? What if we are also fat, will we be disqualified by the administering panel of experts? Can fat people attend and carry if we use a leather holster?

Sounds good. I'm thinking in a couple weeks, maybe give IMPD a heads up before hand, but not advertise this everywhere. We'll tell the media about it a couple days in advance like the Brady's did with their meeting. That way we'll have little chance of "inflitrators". Also, would like to do this in the late afternoon before dinner time so dinner becomes an option for everyone.

Also, I'm open to addressing problem issues, but I don't want them to become a focal point. I'd like to keep this thread on track.

I've learned a lot from helping organize the Tea Parties. Luckily this isn't as involved, but the same principles apply. Best thing about this is the cost will be individual. Transportation costs, food and drink, etc. No fund raising here!

ONE MORE THING!!! When a date is decided on, we won't post it so only those who need to know will know. How's that?

If you are worried about infiltrators, pass out INGO hats, or something that ALL participants FROM THIS FORUM can identify with so you may know who 'outsiders' are. I'd suggest nailing down something like that via PMs so a new person can't just 'get in' as well.

I have my INGO Tactical hat ready to roll.

INGO stuff would be up to the mods and Fenway. We don't want to associate our actions with INGO unless it is okay with the boss.

Really? You're going to be like this? Come on now. If you want to help, help. If you don't, don't.

I like this idea. As for the sling. I say yes, because actually carrying the long gun in hand will not only be tiring but would give the same impression if you walked around with your handgun in hand.

    BRING THE HP!!

Shoot I may bring the Mosin...with bayonet!

We wont be able to post a date till very late, so this might not actually draw any people.

Also be prepared to take this event down on FaceBook if Savage doesn't think this is a good idea.

I sent him a PM to tell him about it

but i will remove it if is a problem.

Just figured it would be a quick way for us to get the word out to our family/friends and include more Gun owners. Plus there are a lot of folks out there who would love to participate in an event like this but arn't members of/haven't heard of INGO.

    Picking a date

Having been involved in several protests and rallies in the past couple months, I have seen only the most pathetic of opposition to our events, and no physical altercations or threatening of any kind. And there has been weeks and months worth of notice for opposition to take notice.

I think that the last rally that the outnumbered socialists are going to mess with, is one that is full of armed citizens. You've seen the clips of the liberals' terrified reactions when one guy shows up to a rally with a pistol on his him. Their heads would literally explode from fear if they encountered a whole group of people armed with assault weapons.

I say: post the date now, and announce the place later, if it matters at all. I don't think you are going to have a problem. Remember, you have LEO's on this forum who are willing to march with you, if you give them a chance to arrange their schedule. Don't worry.

Has anyone considered a meetup coinciding with 9-12?? There is already two bus loads going to Wash DC, as part of the 912/Tea Party....
    I'd be willing to help.

Sorry, I only have a little bit of time to read so I got this far and figured I would say something.

How can you commit to go unless you know when? Me for instance...I have set days off that rotate each week...and it's very difficult for me to get time off unless I know quite some time before hand. Lots of us work weekends and would need to make plans ahead of time. We don't have bankers hours Monday thru Friday. Right now there are only very limited days I can get off. Any trade days I request would have to be done in the same pay period. I'm just saying...

I understand your concern, and trust me, it's not fallen on deaf ears. When a date is decided on I will make sure people know. But it will not be made open to the public for all to read until the last minute. I'm ONLY doing it this way, however much of a burden it may be, because it will stem any anti-gun people from lining the way with people trying to cause problems. I'd really like to avoid as much trouble as possible and this is just a precaution to do that. This way, when it happens, they won't have a chance to mobilize and come out and cause problems and we won't have to have any officers follow us. Either on foot or on the street. It also casues the least amount disturbance on the streets as possible. Note that I said Least amount as possible.

I will be back in about 2 hours (Got the time wrong) and will go back where I left off.

I think that's a great idea. So that those who can't make it to DC can do something which coincides. It's more likely to draw coverage from the local media if it's parallel with what's going on in DC...unless something happens at DC to totally overshadow it.

Ryan, Post a Date, Time and Location for this event. Infiltrators are your least worries. Folks need to be able to plan this activity, Group Participation is what you need to get this off the ground.

How about " I commit to coming, if I'm not working"?

I am very interested! I don't have a LTCH yet. It is my understanding I could carry my rife with no permit at all, is that correct? I would be carrying my .50 muzzleloader.

edit: I read the OP a little more carefully and it looks like you don't want anyone carrying a firearm, at all, if they don't have a LTCH, is that correct? I still might attend, and just carry a camera!
