Anyone who is expecting a resignation, termination, suspension or punishment of any significance to be handed out to any member of the elite class responsible for this has not been paying attention for the past decade. If they can't find a working class fall guy to blame it on they'll just create another new headline to distract everyone away from the issue before anything happens.

It's over and done with and nothing will happen about this until after the election.

Tim Kennedy opinions on Trump Shooting

Been listening to that today. Reasonable opinions.

He's absolutely correct that Secret Service snipers are not going to reflexively pop someone's head just for peeking up over a roof. They need PID of a threat. Between the roof slope and the tree and the heat mirage they probably only had a couple of seconds in which to actually ID the threat and make a high consequence decision before the shots were fired. From the videos it seems like he just pops up and shoots.

According to Kennedy the sniper's primary responsibility isn't even threats at that distance, it's much further distances, and other people should be handling that ring of protection.

Also interesting that they may have been worried about friendly fire because the building was a known staging area and they didn't want to shoot some local cop they didn't have comms with.

The biggest problem seems to be wherever the ball was dropped after the police first saw him creeping around. Somehow he evaded them and got up on the roof with his gear, and that shouldn't have happened. The guys glassing the 700 yard line should not have had to jump on a 125 yard threat.

As for using it to get votes.

I don't know how many new votes this will get Pres. Trump. I have a hard time believing that there were that many people who could be moved by anything before this...but I guess the vapidity of the undecided may be beyond me.

What this may well do is continue to suppress the Biden vote as he looks worse and worse in comparison.
