It's not difficult to believe a few select individuals made rather pertinent decisions that nearly cost Trump his life. Couple that with an obtuse response from investigators, lack of any formal news conferences, disregarding foia requests, etc., etc. and one might start to believe there is an ongoing cover-up.

On that front, I think it would be easy to believe the Biden Administration and Democrats certainly would be motivated to be intentionally lax with Trump's protection. Then add the language, "HItler!" "Fascist!" "Destroying our democracy!" "An existential threat!" "Will lock you up!" Etcetera.

Someone's bound to act on that. Look how many people were disappointed he missed. There doesn't have to be a grand conspiracy. A few people in some key roles being conveniently incompetent. The local cops claimed they called central command. Maybe they're just covering their asses. Or maybe someone in central command conveniently didn't bother to relay it.

It's also reasonable to believe it was just purely incompetence. That's not impossible, certainly, what with all the diversity hires. But dayam that's a lot of random incompetence stacking up.
