Generally, for me, Smith>Ruger when it comes to revolvers, but there's certainly nothing wrong with Rugers.

@snapdragon....I can dispose of that gp100 for you.

I have a K and an L frame both. I think the trigger geometry in the K frame makes it an easier gun to tune for a slick trigger pull but the L frame does soak up recoil a touch better. Grips can make a huge difference as well...lord knows I have tried enough different ones...

    the grip drawer...

1775US, just let me know what you want to try out... I have the Ruger GP100 4 inch as a Match Champion, it is sweet, and the 6 inch GP100, plus a 686 6 inch, 65 4 inch, 19 6 inch too..... along with some more in there just bring some 38 spcl and 357 mag and shoot to your delight....

I love the lockwork in the Smith's but I also like the high position of your hand on the Ruger to control recoil better.... I certainly wouldn't feel a lost if I was stuck with a Smith or a Ruger in a end of the world situation, either would be worth having...

bfads.net is the place to look.
Sadly the Cabela's ad is NOT out yet.
    Nor is Dick's Sporting goods.

However Jedi suspects Dick's sporting good will have their usual buy 1 get 1 free ammo deal coupon.
Cabelas no clue but I doubt we will see .22lr boxes in the ad like in years prior.

    Going to sound like GB.
I remember when you could go into Cabela's on the weekend of thanksgiving sales and find Federal Bulk .22lr boxes for $15.99 (black friday day early bird special) and then $17.99 the rest of the weekend. There was no limit on the number of boxes you could buy and they have pallets and pallets of the stuff in multiple locations. :(

    *sigh*
    Those were the days...

So I'm thinking of a 357 next year. I have it narrowed down to a S&W 19, 586 or GP100 in either 4 or 6 in barrel. What are your thoughts? I have shot a 4in GP100 and like it, but am more of a S&W fan myself with my semi collection. I would like to sell my 10-6 to help pad the fundage which would probably be close to 700. I'm leaning towards pre lock S&W if I go that route.

The only downside to the 19 is they recommend not firing all .357s. Use .38s with some .357

Or not. They should strike A1.

You can't even transport them out of your house, let alone bring one to your house.

Lucky for the UPS guy, that he doesn't know what he is delivering.

The thug beat me to it.
If you have your ham radio fcc license you are good to go.
DO NOT TRANSMIT ON THE POPO FREQUENCY!!!!
You can listen all you want.
It's best to program the radio to listen to say the hammond pd on feq 100 but if on that freq you will transmit on freq 200.
This way even if you accidently hit the transmit button it's not going to the popo freq.
