Changed 2000 pounds of batteries today. Actually I took the covers off and removed the hold down bars, and then stood back and watched the electrician change the batteries.
I love union work, I just wish it paid better.

And that's the reason why I 86'd and future prospect of railroading. Too little pay for the inconvenience of a job it is

I have no problem with pay.
My problem is its 103 degrees. And my tolerence for heat seems to get worse, not better.

And apparently, the knuckleheads in charge have this GREAT (yes, Capitalized) PLAN to train the electricians to fill in and do my job. Replace us as we retire.
    Heres the funny part.
Training is 4 days of classes. 4 hours per day.
We have one electrician trained in my job. He took a 6 week class. He said all it accomplished, was to help him understand our language (instrumentation).
    Idiots.

They are training supervisors to do are job because we have union negotiations going on right now. I would love to see them do my job and get it done in a timely manner.

If I get sick and miss my fishing trip I'm gonna have gg apple you every day for a week.
If I ever see him again, I'll do it anyways. Still working late these days.

But, today I did tell my boss, to his face, I dread & hate coming to work everyday...then he gave me a raise. :dunno: :rockwoot:

    So your an MTM

Nope. I'm supposedly a MTE, Maintenance Tech Electrical.
The theory is, that electrical and electronics are the same.
    They're not.
I'm really a Systems Repairman. I work on electronics and instrumentation.

No. I don't hate my job. I had going to work and dealing with some of the people that also "work" there. Just like pretty much everyone else, but it's not often you can tell your boss you hate coming in and get away with it.
