And when I play a youtube video, here or on the youtube site, the volume control on the video screen has the X, as if I had clicked it.
But I haven't.
I thought I saw a thread somewhere here a couple days go, but now I can't find it.

Yes Ken. I can play games. I can watch videos that are not on youtube. Sound on all of them.

try resetting the browser.... internet options, advanced. then apply both options, then restart the browser...

This will put the browser back to stock and will remove any cookies/settings you might have made or a website might have made to it...

^^if that doesn't work try another browser. If neither works it's probably something screwy with the site, but you could still try running the latest browser updates and doing a hard restart of the computer. Or just throw it out the window and move on.
