Sounds like it was an actual employee. 8/10 times it's a outside contractor.

Well, the company has been known to use contractors to do jobs that are deemed unsafe.
And it has blown up in their face spectacularly because of it.

But I do know several of the people killed in the last 20 years, and a couple of the amputations and one crushed not quite to death.

But if they're going to pay McDonalds workers $15, then why would I bother working here?

Who are the "they" that are foolish enough to believe an unskilled entry level part time job is worthy of $15.00 per hour?

Certainly not the small business owners (franchisees) who actually own the McDonald's stores.

Realize corporate McDonalds doesn't pay burger flippers, soda fillers or window change handlers.

Finally got around to my evil snowman cigar. Despite the steaming glass of Evan Williams cider I'm afraid this stick will last longer than I will out on the back porch. Pretty good so far though. A bit milder than I prefer, and I fear my heavy draw on this medium gauge cigar may prematurely stifle the flavor.

In other news, my dad called me today to go with him to buy his first gun. Growing up in an anti gun home, this is a huge event. I bought him a shotgun 3 years ago but he's only shot it when I'm there and ask him to bring it out. A few months back, he told me they wanted a handgun. I stopped by with a few so he and my mom could see what they liked. My mom loved my gp100, so my dad did a ton of reading and decided on a 4" gp1000. Almost talked him into the used k frame at the same price, but he just preferred the Hague grip on the Ruger. now I'm sure there's another trigger job in my future. My Ruger has been worked over quite a bit by me. Dunno if they'll notice the difference with a factory trigger, we'll see. Either way, pretty proud right now.

You grew up in an anti gun house too eh? I know how you feel. I was genuinely shocked when my mom busted out her 20 gauge a couple years ago when I was visiting.

Yea, none of the mills pay enough to risk that much life. Only real reason anyone breaks 6 figures is bc of overtime. And your just doubling your chances of getting hurt.

Grandparents immigrated here to Roseland and Englewood. Parents grew up in Harvey, Dolton, South Holland and Lansing. I grew up in Lansing and Dyer.

Life experience taught me quickly to abandon the anti sentiment. My parents were not on board. It took them moving to a rural area of Lowell to understand the police were just an hour away.

They're still against carrying in public, but many strides have been taken.

When my dad decided what he wanted, he had me come by to teach safe operation of the gun. He then borrowed it for a while to practice shooting. My mom was a surprising natural with the wheel gun.

Start clipping articles where people are killed/robbed/injured outside of the home.
Most of those people didn't believe either.

Soooo got the MGI AR15 lower with the AK47 magwell back from MGI today but I think it's going back again...

The mags fit now if there isn't any upper receiver on the lower...

I'm getting real disappointed with this little venture at this point....

On another note, the Suburban didn't complain about the tire monitor malfunctioning today....

Snapdragon, good luck with the doggy.... hope everything comes out as you want it too....

For any left handed, GLOCK owners looking for a good thigh rig ... a pretty good deal.

Actually, there are plenty of other holsters for different model firearms still available ... if your gun isn't too popular ... or you're a righty.

Thats not called US Steel Law....

Those are just guide lines and guarantees from US Steel.

Laws are enforced on us by our employees.... for some reason that doesn't sound right....

US Steel has rules for employment which tell their employees they must be unarmed and defenseless while they are working there. This requirement also infers that their safety is guaranteed by the company while their employees are on the premises. They are guaranteeing that they will pay for all medical bills and future earnings of their employees if they are harmed by another person while following their rules. Kinda like the restaurants and malls are stating when they put those gun free zone signs on their premises and you honor them by leaving your firearm in the car etc...

At least that's what my legal team thinks....

Sorry I hate it when companies produce actions which don't take in to consideration the reaction to their action....

Mark, I love to challenge anti-gun policies at companies. I'm not advocating that companies should be pro-gun, but rather that companies should simply follow the state laws, which, my require nothing more than they keep their mouth's shut. But when you have a chance, if you see a NO GUNS sign simply ask the manager where the private ARMED security firm is that is protecting the store/restaurant/etc. When they give you that dumb blank stare, as them who will protect you if someone comes in to rob/shoot up the place? Ask them how long the shooter will wait until the police arrive? Or will the shooter just keep shooting . . .

By the way, for those of you in this thread who are surprised by the Anti-Gun position of Portillo's Hot Dogs because they have an "NRA" sign on the wall, you folks don't know your history. The "NRA" sign at Portillo's is a white sign, blue eagle, red wording. That is the sign of the socialist National Recovery Act of 1933.

This is NOT a pro-gun sign! This is a sign of big-government socialism. Its no different than the "shovel ready jobs" programs of late. It was a massive government expansion to increase the people's dependence upon big government.
