Marriage license pro-tips:
Check the website, and have all your crap.
A Marion County DL will not work in the County of Lake (unless you have a "legal doccument" like a Nipsco bill)

Both parties need to be present... Repeat... BOTH parties need to be present.
It is also preferred (though not required) that both parties bathe beforehand as well.

Have cash, it says right on the website, and the door to the clerks office. Cash is king, act accordingly.

Don't wait til the day before your wedding to get your LTBC, also don't get mad when the lady just leaves to get lunch while in the middle of your application.

Don't tell jokes about buying cows, or making dreams come true, they don't think it's funny. In fact they don't think anything is funny except the fact that my highest level of education was HS and Adrienne's level of education was a Masters w/EDS. She thought that was funny enough to chuckle about.

Don't go at lunchtime on Friday (especially the near the first of the month) unless you like watching the creatures.

And here I thought the Gay's were going to ruin the institution of marriage, but when one lady asked "will you be getting married today" and four of the 5 couples seemingly decided on the spot to get married that day with answers like "sure" "why not" and "how much?" I died a little inside.

Here we go again. You are not breaking any Indiana code or law by carry you firearm to the Lake County Fair. If they see it you will be asked to leave and if you don't it becomes trespassing. Concealed means concealed. I would never leave a firearm in my car at the fair grounds.

Ongoing Preparation for walking along Hadrian's Wall

Well we've been doing our 3 mile practice walks most days to get ready for our walking trek across England early next summer. We don't walk on Monday & Wednesday because that is the day we both go to the fencing club. Not sure what we will do when the high school fencing season starts in November, I suppose we may lay off the walks and substitute in fencing practice.

In the mean time I've got a new backpack, just ordered a brand new Camelback hydration bladder, a strap on hiking strobe light for walking in the rain or at night, and a new first aid kit that I plan to enhance with extra moleskin and other hiking necessities. I've started to break in a new pair of Keen hiking shoes and they are breaking in nicely; the same cannot be said for a pair of Merrell trail runners. The soles on the Merrells are just too soft for walking on asphalt and after 3 miles the only think I want to do is remove them! I plan to try them in the fields on a walk along the banks of the creek behind my property to see if they are suitable for walking on paths, grass, etc.

Hope to get to Cabela's tomorrow??? The wife needs to fine a new pair of hiking shoes.
