Anyone interested in sharing a ride?
I'm planning on v-days from work Fri and Sat, so I can get there the day before, and sleep in a hotel or camp out.
I have to look at the calendar again to see about Sunday, cause I'm sure I'll be too tired to drive straight back.
I have cargo space in a rack above the truck, and a trailer (that I now have to get the spare replaced).

if you take the time to read this thread you will see why there wrong. Check out post 4

    Senate bill 292

No, I didn't get the names. He said that the owners didn't want firearms because of all the people on the grounds.

So, is Porter County fair run by the County then? I am almost positive the fair grounds are owned by the County as well. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Edit: Also, in the second link. What is the part that pertains to the fair? The only one I see is Section 4 Line 6

The Porter County Fair grounds is a political subdivision along with the county that runs it. The fair is not run by a private organization like the lake county fair is. Did he say or did you ask who the owner is? I'm going to send the same email that I did last year to PCS office and portage police department so I'm just try to update my email.

No, He did not say who the owner was, nor did I ask. He did say the something about the owners not allowing it because of all the people there. I don't remember if thats exactly what he said, but it was close to that. I emailed Sheriff David Lain about it and asked if it was possible to get the Officers name and if he could show me the law that doesn't allow carrying inside the county fair.

You should of allowed them to arrest you for it. You could then sue their a*** and Guy would have taken the case just like the Ft. Wayne zoo INGO case and finally show the JBTs that they do NOT have that power!

So what are you going to do to the Pro 2000? Yes Jedi has been looking for one for a while now.

    Three options in my mind:

    1. Sell it jedi for a heckuva a deal

    2. Let it sit on my shelf collecting dust

    3. Add air cylinders and do some modifications to it, turn it into completely automated. Just flick of a lever and it will up/down, index, perform all operations, add a case feeder and bullet feeder, and crank some serious amounts of handgun ammo out of it.

    What do you all think?

    Common Indiana Firearm Questions

Does Indiana issue a firearm Permit or License?
Indiana Code (IC) 35-47-2-3 states "application for license to carry handgun" as such Indiana issues a license to carry handgun not a permit. IC is silent on how you must carry your firearm. You can open or conceal carry your firearm.

Where can I not carry a firearm in Indiana?
IC 34-28-7 states that a firearm cannot be carried:
    - In or on school property [1] - Indiana Government Center “campus” per 25 IAS 8-3-1
    - On a school bus - Court houses per court orders not IC
    - Commercial/charter aircraft - Penal Facilities (ie. Jails) per IC 35-44-3-9
    - Controlled access area of airport - Federal facilities (ie. Post office) per FED LAW
    - During annual State Fair
    - Shipping ports
    - A riverboat casino
[1] IC 35-47-9-1 allows one to carry a firearm while operating a vehicle that is transporting a person to/from school. You must remain in the vehicle. School = K-12 private/public

Can I carry a firearm inside a bar?
Yes IC 34-28-7 does not list it as a prohibit place.

Can I drink alcohol and carry a gun?
Yes, Indiana Code is silent on this issue. This means there is no law. Not recommended!

If I am inside business "XYZ" and told I have to leave because I have a gun do I have to since that business is not listed on IC 35-47-9-1?
Yes because you are on private property (business "XYZ") and have been told to leave. If you refuse then you can be arrested for trespassing under IC 35-43-2-2.

Can I carry my handgun inside my car visibly?
Yes, Indiana Code is silent on this issue. You carry your handgun on you, in plain view or concealed in your car if you have a license. No license handgun must be unloaded, not readily accessible and In a secure case (IC 35-47-2-1). Does not apply to long guns carry how you like.
