Ah so they are only out there during lunch hour perhaps. I was there around lunch time yesterday.
Maybe it was like when "the union" picketted the new grocery store in my 'hood. Turns out the picketers weren't in the union, they were hired out of a day labor place.

Just to get back to discussing guns, anyone notice Cornyn's amendment on concealed-carry reciprocity failed, but with a vote of 57-43. That's an awful lot of votes for the idea to expand gun rights. Newsman Chuck Todd points out that more Senators voted to vastly expand gun rights than for the tepid Toomey/Manchin gun control law. Wow.

:dunno: this at the federal level?

How many votes did they need 60?
So is all the UBC talk is over? Or have they voted on that as well?

At the federal level and yes, 60 votes needed.

Schumer-Toomey-Machine collapses, 54/46. Even Harry Reid voted against it.

    Senate moved on Grassley/Cruz.

    Update: Grassley/Cruz falls 52-48.

    Leahy/Collins Amendment, expected to fail.

    Update: Leahy/Collins falls 58-42.

    Cornyn’s concealed carry amendment:

Update: Cornyn’s concealed carry falls short 57-43.

    Feinstein’s “assault weapon” ban:

Update: Feinstein falls by a humiliating 40-60.

The actual up-down vote for all the marbles is tomorrow.

    Not seeing it:dunno:
Not quick enough. I saw it. Then he removed it.

Hum... so what does this mean then?
I'm tired and about ready to go to bed and have not been following it but from what I gather today they voted on parts of the 'gun debate bills" and everything failed and tomorrow they vote on all of it again (in one big bill)?

Which based on these results will fail as well so NOTHING is going to be changing law wise then? & the senate moves on to immigration and then the debt ceiling/.gov temp budget is back at center stage since they only funded for a few months last time as well. :dunno:

So in essence we 'win' this battle since the anti's did not gain any grown.

True, we preserved what we already had. But some of the amendments were pro-gun, like the reciprocity amendment, and that nearly passed!

Tomorrow there will be 2 more votes.

Barrasso Amendment: Protect the privacy of gun owners. This amendment, authored by John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), would limit the ability of state governments to release the names of gun owners.

    AND

Harkin Amendment: Funding for mental health programs. This amendment, authored by Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), would expand federal mental health programs on a variety of fronts, from schools to suicide prevention to “assessing barriers to integrating behavioral health and primary care.”

They have been doing that for a few weeks now. They are sealing the cracks with tar. The sand is supposed to prevent the hot tar from getting flipped onto the body of our vehicles. Now we get tar and sand.

As for Mexican food: Mi Ranchito in Lowell.
