    Tragedy has struck our household.

    Melen got a B on a paper!

Not that I'm complaining, I'm not. Despite the fact that she is just a high school kid taking classes in one of the top universities in the nation she was pretty upset by the grade. She still has an 'A' in the class, so all hope is not lost. Me, I just think it is reality setting in that indicates she has to work a little bit and that not everything in life will come easy for her.

College is a different animal than high school.
You have to do more thinking. Teachers don't spoon feed you.
They expect you to do your own work.
    And, there's more to research.
A " B" is still good. She'll be back up at "A"s pretty soon.

How do y'all feel about the Ruger SR9/SR40?

I coonfingered one down here in a gun shop and I liked it. It's thin, big round capacity, light-ish and relatively(!) inexpensive.

    I need something that a:
bridges the gap between my 380 and my 45
    b:
I can buy holsters and accy's for and have them fit first time. My S&W 457 is a nice gun but its impossible to find stuff for. I'm really looking for a kydex/"plastic" retention holster for OC.

Feel uncomfortable OCing with a "level 0" holster (here chimes the people who say you are the first level of retention etc., etc., and shouldn't rely on devices).

    Maybe an M&P shield?

How much does a box of shooting clay cost and how many are in a box?
Trying to determine if I should get

    DOBSG3.jpg

Cabela's: Do-All Impact Seal Big Gong Target
    $20
    or
    Do-all-autoreset-350.jpg

    Cabela's: Do-All .22 Auto Reset Target
    $35
    or
    78860.jpg

    Cabela's: Do-All Outdoors Impact-Seal Pigeon Perch
3 for $20 but need the clays

What do you think a 7 year old would like best?
To shoot a plastic target (gong) or shoot steel or clays?
I'm thinking the steel as that will make the most noise and have the best visual effect?

I was thinking it, but I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Besides, he mentioned hi-cap and accessories, the Shield possesses neither. I've actually been contemplating trading my Shield for a full sized M&P. Ya can't even buy extra mags for it!

Instead of a full sized, why not go with a compact?

I'm getting that too. I am trying to find a used one for about two mouths now with no luck. I have never bought a new firearm only used and I don't want to start now.

I've never seen a used one for sale. And I looked longer than you. Even if you find one, it won't be priced as low as the one I sent you. And then, it might be one of the early releases that had issues, and it won't have the threaded barrell. ;)

As much as you've drooled over it, you might consider breaking tradition, and buying it new.

Again, that is the best price I've ever seen. :D
