Monday morning. Another fun filled week at the salt mine.

The very last thing I did, was go to put the base of the "trees" in the backyard. One of the bases disintegrated.
I was lucky it lasted till it did.
Where the 4x4s crossed, was all rotted out.
I guess this summer I'm making a new base.

Getting treated wood this time? And it did seem to last quite a few years.

This was the new tree. so it wasn't that old.
And it was treated lumber.
I'll probably use cedar next time. And take better care with paint to try to seal it up.

Menard's Treated lumber is AC2 a proprietary chemical that is formulated and labeled "For above ground use".

ACQ is sold at Schilling Bro's. and they have a version that is rated for ground contact. The price difference is hardly noticeable.
