ended up using the guy blythe's told me about to move safes. He does it as a side project but stays busy, said they moved 19 safes in one weekend two weeks ago. professional and quick, they moved two large safes from inside one house in highland to inside our house in crown point, $400 total. If anyone is in need I have his contact info. FWIW I have a friend that worked at cabela's until recently so I asked her who they used, Two men and a truck, and she said she would NEVER recommend them, they constantly damaged safes or people's homes and cabela's would end up paying to make it right. just a heads up

We always moved my dad's safe ourselves. The door was removable for transport which helped a lot. Moving the body itself was a lot like moving a refrigerator because I think the door was really the heaviest part. It wasn't tiny but it wasn't huge either. Still a pain in the ass.

Crazy. Just found out one of my old neighbors when I lived in St. John walked out on two guys rooting around in one of his vehicles and they pulled a gun on him and took off.
