Lake county Sheriffs, do you guys find them very helpful? A few years ago we had a family of tweakers that were causing a commotion in the neighborhood for a couple of years. They zeroed in on my mom who was in her mid 80's until I got involved. I called the cops 3 times and was underwhelmed on their efforts and was sickened on all the errors they made in the reports they made.

There is a guy who rents out a house as an airBnB down the street from me, all rentals less than a week long. Today I see a bunch of kids in their 20's all wearing black making several trips in and out of the house and shifting things between a couple of cars. It is way too hot and humid to dress like that. One car leaves and returns a few minutes later and then leaves. Some things I can see they are carrying look like big white cards you could write slogans on. I call lake county sheriffs non emergency asking for a detective and get passed around to everyone but. I get asked a bunch of stupid questions and am warned to not approach anyone. I told them that there were still some people there. Hours later not even a squad came by to write down license plates. I have very little confidence in Lake County Sheriffs Dept but they are very good though at hiding in driveways with radar to catch evil speeders.

My company dissolved the pension. We have 3 options.

Pay out
Rollover
Payout/rollover

Payout is 20% federal mandatory. Even after that I can fully pay off car and all my debt except for mortgage.

Would you pull it and wipe your slate clean, saving thousands on interest over the years?

Depending on your age or long term retirement plans, rollover into a plan that is stock market based might make sense. 20% is a pretty big pill to swallow.

From personal experience, the last time I felt I could count on them was when Roy Dominguez was Sherriff. I knew Marco Kuyachich (RIP) personally and worked with his wife.

Seems like that's all they do.


Edit to add: If there's ever a full confiscation in this country, I fully believe some departments will question and resist it, but LCSD would run to the front of the line to enforce it.
