Thanks guys!! Now I just need to get it lite up for night time.
Doesn't that street light count. My neighbor has a flag pole and since the street light is on the corner it counts and illuminates it enough. That is unless you want to run a light.

No, street light is pretty far away. It will need a light, haven't decided if I'm going the high or low voltage route.

If I remember correctly from the FB post of the article a while back, people opposed to it were playing the noise level and "What if.." game.
Maybe someone should tell the people that for every 10 shots fired by law-enforcement only two hit there attended target.

Last year's Father's Day gift finally up :-)

    Nice flag pole.
    Looks telescopic.
If it you can't go to 1/2 mast, you can use a black mourning ribbon.
As for the lighting, I always had problems with low voltage bulb life.
I just went to the hardware store, bought a little staked light holder/socket. I use a outdoor CFL floodlight, keeps the energy useage down, or you can find a L.E.D.
I had a problem with it buried in snow. Take a small piece of conduit, use a cutter it notch the top, hit it into the ground. Stake goes into top of that. Notches should line up with ridges in stake.

I think it's supposed to be in a bow. I just do this.

Thanks, yes it is a telescopic pole. I'll have to check out the light idea. Thanks for the tip on the ribbon.

Our spot lights in the landscaping are low voltage LEDs. I'm not sure they would be bright enough to illuminate that flag though.
