That sucks. NIPSCO has 15,000 without power that they are hoping to get fixed by morning. At least it's in the 70's.

Moved out of the suburbs onto rural land and learned quickly about extended power failures. Put in a big generator about a year after moving out here. Replaced it last summer with a newer/bigger one after the old one finally failed.

Longest winter outage was 8 days.
Longest summer outage was 5.5 days.

Got about 17 or 18 years out of the first generator.

Lake County seems to be particularly bad.

We also learned about power outages. We put in a NG Generac to run the place.

Yeah, we have a NG generator... Love it. We originally got it when my mom was on nebulizer treatments 3-4 times per day. Now that she is not, I'm still glad we got it.

The capacitor decided to go out on friday for the air conditioner. Thankfully found one from hvac person but all of friday had no a/c. So that was fun lol

Crews were out and about in Portage. There must have been a microburst. The BP sign on Central was snapped in half.

Microburst laid down the tomatoes and some corn, but got that straightened back up. Trimmed trees and bushes blowing clippings into the yard for mulching. Freaking grass is STILL wet! Good time for a lunch break. Don't you even think about it Mother Nature!

Yup raced back to nwi from work to try n cut the grass at the house n at grandma but alas no luck. Today the grass is still wet n the ground all muddy. Next sat im going to havebseveral properties that i HAVE to cut all stacking up because of this rain. Ggrrr
