Actually not quite as hot in the shop as yesterday. Had a better breeze today. Still pretty miserable. Can't wait for next week. Low 70s and upper 60s

I feel for ya. When I turned wrenches for 18 years it was in a brick building working the 4-12 shift. That building held the
heat all night long and it would still be hotter than a crack pipe on payday at 11pm.

Yeah. It'll take 2-3 days when it cools off before the inside will match the outside temp after heat like this. It retains the heat really well, unfortunately

Why are you letting your daughter move into a place run by a slumlord? Remind me again is Notre Dame north of 30 and in the the ghetto?
It seems to be. She is an adult. She and her friends all picked the same complex. We trusted them to be 1/2 way intelligent; that was a mistake.

The layouts and apartment sizes are actually very good. The upkeep by the landlord is, at best minimal.

Been working there all week to clean and paint it. Literally doing the job of a normal landlord. This one takes advantage of the students. We talked with some current residents, they say it's actually a nice place to live but the "move in" is disgusting as the landlord literally does nothing between tenants. You are getting the filth of the last tenant.

It is nice NOW. But it has been sanitized and painted and pretty much decorated by the lovely Mrs_Bob and myself while she has been in classes. She helped paint some of it. And she scrubbed baseboards and mopped and swept and cleaned and cried a lot too. But now it actually a nice place.

These photos are AFTER the initial cleaning we did so these look far better than when we first walked into the unit. I literally had to sweep the black dust off the ceiling. And the floors were totally disgusting. I shampooed the rugs with a commercial extractor and dumped out water that was literally black.

Lots of progress over the past 4 days but still more to do.

These photos are not actually the final views, you can still see that trim painting has not yet been done in these, but at least the filth is gone, the floors were all swept, vacuumed, mopped and then steam cleaned! Walls washed and painted. Kitchen and bath . . . don't ask!
