A friend of mine is a nurse and she said a guy runnung from the police tried to jump a fence and got caught on top of it and somehow discharged a .357 mag into his junk. there wasn't much left.

What safeties? Glock, XD, or whatever, when all you have to do is hold the weapon and pull the trigger, there is no safety. When a three year old can pick up a weapon and fire it, there is no safety.

Putting a "safety" on the trigger makes considerably less senss than putting a screen door on a submarine.

Sorry for the OT post, but...

A safety's #1 job is not to keep the gun from firing when you pull the trigger, nor is it to make the operation of the gun more complicated.

If it was, then as soon as a gun was on safe we could start ignoring the 4 rules.

According to your logic, the perfect safety would require a quick long division problem to disengage. That way neither children nor gangsters could operate it.
