It is also possible that country music sends out hidden messages to join the Klan.

C'mon now. Can you point out one, just ONE country song that had a title (or lyrics) even close to being analogous to "F*** Tha Police" by NWA?

In case you're not familiar with the lyrics, here's a little snippet. The rest isn't fit to post in polite company.

"And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath
    of cops, dyin in L.A.
Yo Dre, I got somethin to say"

Let's just say that subtlety isn't their strong suit, eh?

So far, it appears to be a justified shooting. If hard evidence to the contrary is revealed, then a different determination may be necessary.

Pointing a gun at someone who is also armed is often a formula for being shot / killed. Even the dumbest among us typically understand that action and consequence.

Interestingly, we don't hear much rhetoric from the anti-gun libtards about getting guns out of the hands of these goons. Maybe they don't want to aggravate their voting base, the criminals? :dunno:

So you've listened the NWA's song? What violence and crime have you committed?

    Mr Big Pig?
    -Country Joe McDonald

Sorry, no cigar. I see anti-police sentiment and criticism of the police, sure, but please point out the line or lines where they are calling for violence against the police. Here they are (notice I CAN post these here without violating any rules).

Mr. Big Pig, he thought he was tough,
He learned how to swear, you know that he learned how to curse.
He got himself a gun and he learned how to shoot,
He even got a gas mask and put it on his snoot.
With his gun and his club hanging by his side
You know that he thought he was the meanest -huh- pig alive.
With his gloves on his hands and his boots on his feet
He thought he was the coolest pig on the streets.
Hey, you don't have to be a man to beat a man,
You don't have to be a man to beat a man.
Aw come on, play it for me now.
Hey! You know what I'm talkin' about,
I'm talkin' about Mr. Pig, the man.
Mr. Big Pig, he likes to be safe,
You know that he always begs for tear-gas and a little bit of mace.
He loves his leather gloves, his bullet-proof vest,
His great Big Pig badge pinned to his chest.
With all his equipment, he feels pretty big,
But it takes more than clothes to make more than a pig —
    Shotguns, squad cars, walky-talkies, too,
Mr. Big Pig, you just look like a fool.
Hey, you don't have to be a man to beat a man.
C'mon, you don't have to be a man to beat a man.
Ah, come on, let's rock on now.

    From AOS on Twitter:

My friend was just standing there not doing anything except getting a bead on the center of the cop's forehead and they shot down my Friend. My Friend put his gun up in the "Surrender Position," where you point it at a cop's face, and they shot My Friend. My Friend was just trying to show them "Gun Up (in Your Face), Don't Shoot," and they shot My Friend, the Gentleman Scholar of Gunfighting. My Friend was just heading up to Boston to go to MIT to get his degree in knocking off liquor stores

Ok fine, it only inspires people to have "anti-police sentiment"

    The power of lyrics!

How about you explain that rap part? Is there some hidden message that hypnotizes people into committing acts of violence?

    To Kutnupe14,

I don't know about rap music, but country music has been linked to a higher suicide rate.

    Link: http://comp.uark.edu/~ches/CountryMusic_Suicide.pdf

Within this study it also notes that country music has been linked to "increased levels of consumption of alcohol (Schaefer 1988)."

It would appear that for some people listening to a certain type music over and over again can have some impact on how they think and/or behave.

However, I haven't seen any evidence as to whether the 18 year old who was shot listened to any type of music, or that he was not attending school, or that he did not have a job. Therefore, I cannot draw any conclusions on his act of stupidity based upon nonexistent evidence.

    Regards and Happy Holidays,

    Doug

    Who?

How deep into wannabes and never was did you dig to find that?

So media doesn't affect wold view? Obviously it won't completely flip a closely held belief 180, but not influence? Not make drinking more appealing? Drug use? An attitude towards others? Reinforce cultural ideas?

Of course a normal person with a wide range of experiences, critical reasoning skills and proper moral training, would not be encited to commit murder based on a song. Remember how the Beatles song "helter skelter" was blamed in the past. I heard that some many times and I never even thought Charles Manson was cool.

Now remove the criteria of wide range of experiences, critical reasoning skills and proper moral training.

What is left is the very fundamentals of brain washing. Individuals growing up in a culture that is completely laced with hate and violence messages and having no mental tools and moral foundation to use to test these messages, WILL IN FACT act out on the stimuli of the environment. This is basic, 2nd year psych course stuff, right out of the textbooks.
