I use the same term (evangelical atheist). However, I don't think that subset represents the entire population of atheists. Rather, they are merely the most vocal. In my experience (so, anecdotally), most atheists are "live and let live" types. That's not a bad reference. I like it. I usually call them militant atheists. But evangelical atheist is probably more accurate. Nearly all atheists I've encountered have utter contempt for religious people. I think that is what makes them atheist as an identity more than just mere disbelief. They can't just not believe without digging their nails in. It's like they want their disbelief to hurt. PaulF was like that.
A roll that must be played occasionally.BULLY!

I had more than a few bouts with him. But I will say that getting to know a person (face-to-face) changes things. I had the opportunity to meet PaulF and we got to know each other a little bit, beyond text on a screen. Afterwards, not that we agreed on the topics we previously disagreed on, but the level of vitriol was magnitudes lower. He was toxic to most of INGO. I imagine that to a lot of INGO lefties, he is missed.

I miss getting to go to the meet-and-greets that used to be fairly common with this group.
It couldn’t have hurt.Yet he melted down enough to get banned. Maybe he should have met more INGOers.
You’ve never been on the recieving end of a net-rep attack. Maybe INGO is full of better angels now than it was when I first joined up…but I doubt it.Here's an idea. Get rid of all mods. Put a hammer button on each post. If a member gets a ratio of ban hammers to posts > 50%, he/she is automatically banned. No way that could get abused. It would be like an ingocracy.
I'll just show myself out the door now.

Agreed. I have known both types. The LALL type you usually don't even know their beliefs unless a conversation about it comes up. The EA type won't stop telling you about it. Kinda like crossfit. Well, Bob Lazar said UFOs use exotic transuranic elements (like Actaeon 227, perhaps?) for power and propulsion. Just sayin'So his account is his shill account after all. Figures...
If The Dominion get a vote, Avery Brooks is probably ahead of you in that arenaWell, if you ever need more mods, I believe I am now ahead of BigRed in the Dominion vote.
Last post I could find was 26 May 2020, so closer to threeIn the last 2 years I believe.
