...she should put her head in a bag.
But she makes a great drinking game! A drink for each blink. Do try to keep up.

    Unfortunate.

It's a shame that the representative made a spectacle of himself. Now the media will focus on his outburst for a few days, instead of the health care problems in this country. Next time you have a guest in your 'house', best not call him/her a liar. :)

    like its never happened before

THE recent list fight in the United States Senate, precipitated by Senator Tillman of South Carolina, is one of the most disgraceful episodes that ever took place in the upper branch of Congress. The dastardly attack of Preston S. Brooks, also of South Carolina, upon Senator Charles Sumner of Massachusetts does not afford a parallel.

Personally I'm stoked that the passion is back in congress

Note: it was a another South Carolina man who "perpetrated" the current hostilities ;)

Had to post a comment....the sniveling by the Dem's on that board about "suffering poor people" and "Bush did THIS!" was just too much to bear without a response. What a bunch of whiny children....

Get a haircut and a job already, will ya?

Really? So now, when Wilson goes on Fox News and makes the rounds of the talk radio shows and quotes chapter and verse where the bill doesn't disallow illegal aliens, and how the Democrats voted down a provision in committee to check for legal status, what will the media do then? What will the Democrats and Marxists like Pelosi and Reid be able to say?

It may have been an outburst, but even with the minor apology for doing it, it will pay big dividends in the next few days. I'll bet the Networks won't even push it far, because they'll realize he can prove the lie.

They said on Nightline tonight that calling someone a liar in the chambers is a violation of some procedural rule. LOL I think it's in the same section as the rule against telling the emperor he is naked?

Not sure about in the US, but I'm pretty sure in the British house of commons it is. They can say virtually anything else to anyone including the Prime Minister(and frequently do), except call them a liar. I think if you do you are escorted from your seat, and ejected until you apologize. No guarantees on the accuracy of that information, but I think its right.

The media NEEDS to focus on this! The American President IS a liar, as well as the rest of Congress!

We need to clean up the illegalities in Congress and the Senate MUCH more than we need socialized medicine! :twocents: :patriot:

Folks, if words like this are being exchanged on the floor of Congress, there is no way to heal the divide.

I can think of only two other times in our history that there was such bitterness.

This President is too ego driven to ignore what happened tonight. He'll push now, and get what he wants at any cost, and our Republic will end.

ETA: The Dems will push to punish this guy, the Reps will push back.... and within one to two weeks we could have blows on the House floor. 50/50 it happens.

Hell, his own party has already forced him to apologize. And McCain couldn't run to the cameras fast enough to denounce him. I wonder how the folks in his district reacted?

Oh you can count on Pelosi and her thugs extracting their pound of flesh. Did you see the look on her face. He'll probably be censured for what little good that will do. Then the DNC will run ads in his district attempting to embarrass him. I have to admit it was a rude thing to do in our tradition. Have you ever seen the British PM speaking in front of Parliment?

You never know, it could turn "viral" and cause and outpouring of support for him. He acted from pure emotion allegedly, breaking decorum and doing something that has happened only a handful of times in history.

If he garners support from it you might watch to see which other POLs try similar things.

Not sure. I know we are not them, but if you listen to British Parliament, they hurl accusations and banter back and forth in a very high degree of disagreement all the time.

Matter of fact, I'd like to see the POTUS be made to stand up to loud arguments and defend his position (any potus, not just this one) in front of our elected representatives. Share the floor with debate on whatever topic arise. I think we let our niceties get in the way of actual, mature discourse on important topics and decisions.

Too often our President(s) are allowed to craft their messages in a timely manner, and look too polished and end up with pretty much just propaganda. And not discourse.

That goes on in the cloak rooms, off the floor. Been there, seen it.
