There is not comprimise unless it's the scrapping of the WHOLE idea. Period. We have bigger fish to fry. I will NOT accept mandated Insurance and I hope none of you will either.

THERE IS NO REASON THEY SHOULD BE WORKING ON HEALTHCARE!!! Anyone in Congress that offers up provisions to this bill instead of working to kill it does NOT have our best interests in mind!!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!

It's TIME to SPEAK UP instead of cowering like little girls. KUDOS to Rep Wilson for having the BALLS to speak out. My Democratic Rep (Ellsworth) is hiding under Pelosi's desk. Shudder the thought.

    +1

We have a raving socialist takeover of our nation with the intent to bind it down and destroy it, and we have the nervous Nellies and Miss Manners types tsk, tsking the speaking of truth to power. Good thing some of you weren't around when the Founders were hanging King George in effigy and ripping his Coats of Arms out of government buildings and burning them in the street. If telling a liar that you know he is a liar is so far out of bounds then there is absolutely no hope for a spirit of resistance in this country.

Pack it in, lick the hands of the jailers, and turn out the lights on the last great hope for the world. It's over.

I feel that this email was a good one to add to this discussion instead of creating a thread for it....

    From the Desk of:
    Steve Elliott, President, Grassfire.org Alliance

I'm headed to D.C. today for the Taxpayer events and
I need your help. Please see below. --Steve

    Ryan,

President Obama exposed himself last night... and I'm wondering
if I was the only one who saw what happened!

Right near the end of the speech...

When the President tried to make it sound as if government-run
health care is something that every past great American would
    have demanded!

    Obama talked about...

"...the perils of too little" government...

"...the leavening hand of wise [government] policy"...

"...carefully crafted...[government] efforts to help people
    in need."

    And here's the kicker...

He expressed empathy with those who are having trouble believing
that "government is looking out for them."

    Well, Mr. President, I OBJECT!

I don't think the crisis we are facing today in America in any
way resembles the "perils of too little" government, and I flatly
reject the premise that "government is looking out for" me!

And so did our Founding Fathers!

Despite all the pomp and circumstance from last night's address,
nothing has changed. This is the same Barack Obama who believes
government is the answer... that government is wiser... that
government is looking out for you... and that we have a "moral
    obligation" to pass ObamaCare!

+ + Action: Flood Congress with faxes today!

Ryan, I am heading up to D.C. today and I'm thrilled to
report that thanks to friends like you we met our goal...

Grassfire team members will be delivering over 500,000 petitions
opposing ObamaCare to the Senate. In fact, every Senator's office
will receive petitions in this massive delivery tomorrow morning!

But I'm looking to you to help me counter Obama's massive media
    and grassroots push.

That's why I'm asking you to schedule faxes for
immediate delivery to your members of Congress and
other key Congressmen right now. Go here:

    http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=21447&CID=122&RID=21170944

(As always, if you prefer to send your own faxes, click the link
above and you will be directed to all the information you need,
    including sample letters.)

+ + Flood Congressional Phone Lines

Petitions, faxes, and yes, a daily deluge of phone calls pouring
into Congressional offices is what I'm asking for right now.

We heard Obama, now he needs to hear from us--loudly!

Pick up your phone right now and call your three members of Congress:

    Sen. Lugar 202-224-4814

    Sen. Bayh 202-224-5623

    Rep. Buyer 202-225-5037

    Or, call the Switchboard: 202-224-3121

With your help, I believe we can literally shutdown Congressional
phone lines--sending a powerful message to Obama and his cohorts
that the American OBJECT to his socialist push!

One final note on the Obama speech...

Right before Obama once again exposed himself as a big-government
statist, he also exposed his warped view of American history.

Instead of talking about our "founding fathers" and their principles
(i.e. the Constitution), Obama talked about our "predecessors."
Specifically, he referenced the Roosevelt New Deal and the Johnson
Great Society as his examples of the models to follow -- two eras
of the greatest expansion of government in our history!

Obama wants to meet "history's test" without ever consulting the
    real foundations of America's history!

    Thank you for taking action!

    Steve Elliott, President
    Grassfire.org

P.S: After taking fast action with Grassfire, please alert your
friends--urging them to follow your lead by clicking below and
    faxing and phoning today!

    Where's the bacon?
You know, the good folks from my home state of SC do have some issues - but being afraid to say what they mean is NOT one of them. Not the best way to maintain decorum, but I doubt there's a person in his district right now who doubts where the man stands.

Can any of us say that about OUR representatives?

I can say that I know precisely where our two senators "stand"... With their heads up their back ends, right over with the Democrats. That is one positive thing about Evan Bayh... he doesn't pretend to be part of one party and actually behave like a member of the other one... which is not to say that he's honest. That one has more "Lai"s than a Chinese phone book.

    Blessings,
    Bill

E-Mailed Joe Wilson my support this AM. He may have violated protocol, bu he had the balls to state the truth!
:rockwoot::rockwoot:Too bad his fellow Republicans had to fall all over themselves in panic that he may have slighted the"Great One". (Anyone remember all the times Bush was called a liar and worse by the Democrats.)

E-Mailed Bayh, Lugar, and Ellsworth - Told them that truth was spoken last night and they had best listen. That sound they hear in the distance is a land slide headed their direction.

We have a lot of "elected representatives" that need to find new jobs.

He doesn't have any balls, honor, or back bone.

He's nothing but an opportunist show boating and pandering. He yells one thing to get his face on TV and the attention of the voters then less than a day later he's crying around apologising, phoning up the person he called a liar with in hours and begging forgiveness. He's a whimpering whiney worm with out even the brains it takes to make a successful crook in Washington DC.

I think he's being honest in all cases.

    1. He let his emotions get the better of him and he had the outburst (I would have done the same.)
    2. He apologized because it wasn't the right things to do (I would have done the same.)

Maybe so. I've been wrong before. I thought a politician was telling the truth once.

I catch your drift and agree with you.

But, I don't buy the conspiracy theory that Joe's outburst was some kind of calculated plan. No politician that I have ever heard of wants to jepordize his job... and Joe's definitely on the chopping block. the Dems are out for blood - especially after the commie Van Jones incident.

I'm not saying it was any kind of a "plan".

Show boating and being a loud mouth is instinctive for politicians. That's how most of 'em get the job. It's only after the fact when he realise what it was going to cost him that he started backpeddling just like he will any other time he learns after the fact what something might cost him.

Jack I thought his apology was not that he was wrong for calling him a liar but that he was doing it at an inappropriate moment. I guess it's rude to call a liar a liar when Nancy "Choppers" Pelosi is standing behind you.

It's a shame that the representative made a spectacle of himself. Now the media will focus on his outburst for a few days, instead of the health care problems in this country. Next time you have a guest in your 'house', best not call him/her a liar. :)

Considering that the dems were doing it constantly over the last 8 years (difference being that the voices raised were in groups so no one voice could be picked out) and that the people on that side of the aisle repeatedly made far worse statements about Bush, why in the world should anyone care?

As for the "health care problems," did you note the new numbers Obama used? 30 million without adequate healthcare. The population of the US is over 305 million. That's better than 90% that even the Dems consider having adequate coverage.

A score of 90% is usually considered an A. That's not justification for the government taking complete control of healthcare. At most, if it were within the Federal Government's Constitutional powers, which it isn't, it would be cause for some modest tweaks.

So if Wilson's outburst and the buzz surrounding it keeps them from passing this monstrosity, then I say "Go, Wilson!"

Look at what he actually apologized for

For those who are down on Wilson for apologizing, note carefully what he actually apologized for--basically for being rude. He did not retract the content. He did not claim that what he said was wrong (that Obama was lying). He merely acknowledged that that time and place were not the appropriate venue.

Now, I happen to disagree with him on that, having a pretty strong streak of "turnabout is fair play" and "as you sow, so shall you reap" in me and the Dems have been doing that kind of thing in far greater and more vitriolic fashion, but someone with more of a tendency toward the forms of courtesy might see it differently.

They should have used a rebuttal speech like they do for State of the Union addresses.

After Obama spent about half of his speech calling them liars (on topics that they called him out on) I'd have been fed up myself and ready to give some back.

One of the things I most loathe about American politicians is their passive-aggressive culture. I'd much rather they just came out and butted heads, like the Brits. I think most of ours would just cry.

I don't disagree with him on that, but I can't really fault him for deciding that the shout was not in keeping with the decorum of his public persona.

Now, if he'd said that he was wrong and that Obama wasn't lying, well, that would have been a horse of a different color.

In the end Wilson is a dumb*** for his rudeness, he's show his lack of maturity. I know I don't teach my kids to scream things out while other people are speaking. Thats number one. Number two Obama hasn't lied about giving illegals coverage, yet so Wilson was a little premature in his assessment. He should have keep is mouth shut, and waited until his personal opinion, cause thats what it was, was proven right.

What an ironic online handle you have.

In the end Wilson is a dumb*** for his rudeness, he's show his lack of maturity. I know I don't teach my kids to scream things out while other people are speaking.

You don't, but Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the Democrats on Capitol Hill have done just fine in teaching that lesson. Or have you not bothered to listen any time Bush gave a speech in Congress during the last eight years. The two differences is that Wilson was a sole voice--so you could pick him out--as opposed to large numbers of the Democrats raising their voices in objection frequently with the security (cowardice) of anonymity and that Wilson recognized and admitted that he made a civility faux pas, something that no-one on the left has done yet.

Thats number one. Number two Obama hasn't lied about giving illegals coverage, yet so Wilson was a little premature in his assessment. He should have keep is mouth shut, and waited until his personal opinion, cause thats what it was, was proven right.

Please show me anywhere in that 1018 page bill (it's HR 3200 in case you aren't aware) where there is any mechanism for ensuring coverage is only given to people here legally. More than once the Republicans have offered amendments to add such a mechanism and each time it was voted down.

To claim that one is not going to provide coverage for illegals and yet actively block any attempts to actually prevent providing coverage for illegals, well, there's a saying about actions and words.

But then, maybe he is speaking the truth. After all, if he really means to grant amnesty to all of the "undocumented immigrants" in the US, then they won't actually be illegal, will they. Mind you, that kind of word game a deeper untruth. Of course, the Democratic "it depends on what the meaning of is is" party just loves that kind of word gaming sophistry.

But then I'm still waiting for the apology for calling people who disagree with Pelosi, Reid, Obama, et al "brownshirts," "political terrorists," and other epithets for the "crime" of raising their voice in dissent. It wasn't all that long ago that these folk called dissent the highest form of patriotism. Well, I guess that only applies when they are the dissenters rather than the dissentees.
