America is a huge 237 year old uncontrolled sociological experiment in which crazy concepts like natural rights vested in the citizens not in the soverign, the abolition of government sponsored religion, election of those who govern, checks and balances, human equality, habeus corpus, the primacy of the pursuit of happiness, and the right to bear arms against tyrrany, were all pretty edgy untried things.

Has that experiment screwed up society? The English in 1785 would tell you that it did.
