Yes gang, we did have a good time last night, we also had some new shooters join in with us last night and I think they had a very good time shooting and maybe learning a few things.
I want to stress that you not be discouraged if your scores do not live up to your expectations, that's what were there for is to learn and get better.
For instance, James Hamilton was finally able to keep all of his shots in the black circle of the slow fire target last night, a great accomplishment for any of us to strive for.
So here are the scores for last night.

    J. Hamilton .22, 258-2X
    B. Braumbaugh .22, 249-2X
    J. Hamilton .38, 234
    R. Combs .22, 230-4X, way to go Robert
    R. Voland .22, 197
    R. Combs .40, 174
    W. Pulley .38, 160-1X
    M. Williams .22, 159-1X
    R. Voland .45, 109
    R. Williams .22, 92-1X

Great job guys and remember if you have any questions, just ask.

    Hi everybody;
We had another good shoot last night.
I even sneaked in and tried my hand at shooting before we officially started, I haven't shot in weeks and it's only the second time that I have fired my Ruger Lite.

James Hamilton took first place with a 259-1x, .22cal.
Robert Combs was second with 236, .22cal.
James Hamilton also took third with a 198-1x, .38 special
    Donn Sherwood was 4th with 161, .22cal.
Matt Williams took the 5th place with 159, .22cal.
Wallace Pulley was 6th with 154, .357 Mag.
Rob Voland was 7th with 151-!x
Robert Combs 8th also shot 151 but no x's, .40S&W
Ruth Williams was 9th trying hard with 111 .22cal. keep at it.
Rob Voland took 10th with 92 using a .45 Auto
Wallace Pulley finished up with a 70, shooting .38

We have had a few shooters ask about shooting rifle so were
going to try it and see how it goes. They will not be scored
with handguns but will be the same rules.
As you have seen, many shooters shoot more than one gun and caliber so why not handgun and rifle or just rifle? Preferably .22cal but if you want to shoot big bore we may have to move you down to the far end for comfort.
    So pass the word.

One of the shooters was having trouble with what turned out to be firing pin issues so next week he may have it corrected and be a real contender.

Have a great week and we'll see you all next week.

We had another good time tonight. Several new shooters were there and I think they'll be back.

Nobody had any alibi's that I'm aware of, that's lingo for misfires or jams, but we did have a first though, two shooters tied for first place with a 232-1X, both in .22caliber and I'm not quite sure how to award the prize, split a box of 375 rounds of .22 ammo? I don't know! We'll find a way to work it out though.

I had the pleasure again of working with another young shooter tonight. Maybe one of these days soon he will be giving the rest of you some competition.

    Anyway here are the scores.

R.Combs was tied with T.Dobbs for first place with 232-1X in .22caliber.
    Next was R.Combs in .40 S&W with 173-1X
Ruth Williams shot a 157 in.22 caliber, way to go Ruth your getting better.
    Next was J.Garten with a 147-1X in .22 caliber.
Matt Williams shot a 124 in .22 caliber, good job Matt.
Lajauna Garten shot a 52 in .22 caliber. Her sights were off and she was
shooting high so hopefully they will have her sighted in for next week.

It was hot and muggy outside today but it was cool and dry in the range.
See you all next week and have a good one.

Wow! What a great evening. The weather outside was hot and humid but it was cool and dry in the range tonight and we had several new shooters tonight also as you will see and I think they all had a great time.

I would like to mention that one of the things that people who shoot often will learn is safe gun handling. By using their firearms often in a range environment where they can receive free instruction they will in time become conscious of safe handling and it will be as natural as breathing. People who seldom or never practice with them are less likely to develope safe handing practices. OK, enough of that.

James Hamilton was our winner tonight with 241-2X in .22 cal.
Will Bolton took second place with 233 in 9mm.
Rob Voland was close third with a 232 in .22 cal.
Tom Dobbs 225-2X in .22 cal.
Calvin Hansard, 218 in .22 cal.
James Hamilton, 210 in .22 cal.
    Robert Combs, 209-2X in .22.cal.
    Tom Dobbs, 197-2X in .22.cal.
Ruth Williams, 194 in .22 cal.
    Woody Burton, 176-1X in .40 S&W
John Hurt, 167 in .45 cal.
Wallace Pulley, 167 in .38 cal.
Rob Voland, 137 in .45 cal.
    Robert Combs, 130 in .40 S&W cal.
Matt Williams, 128 in .22 cal.
Wallace Pulley, 121 in .357 Magnum.
    Chuck Brinson, 17. in .40 S&W cal.

Good job everybody, hope to see you all next week.

We had another great night tonight with some more new shooters.
It was still humid outdoors tonight even though the temperature outside was down some but it was cool and comfortable in the range.
I want to encourage shooters with lower scores than they would like, to be patient and even ask for help if they feel they need it to improve their shooting scores. Many have already improved since they first started.
We had 11 shooters tonight with some shooting two calibers or strings.
    OK, the winner tonight is.........................
Tom Dobbs, in .22 cal. with a 252, followed by
James Hamilton, in .22 cal. with 240-1X
James Hamilton, in .22 cal. with 237
Tom Dobbs, in .22 cal. with 235-3X
Rob Voland, in .22 cal. with 232
Robert Combs , in .22 cal. with 225-1X
Ruth Williams, in .22 with 218
Will Bolton, in 9mm with 214-1X
John Hirt, in .22 cal. with 191-1X
    Robert Combs, in .40 S&W with 171-1X
Wallace Pulley, in .357 Magnum with 155
James Miller, in .38 cal. with 143-1X
Rob Voland, in .45ACP with 137
Wallace pulley, in .38 cal. with 110

Chuck Brinson, in 9mm with 73
    Brently Ashier, in I beleive .40 S&W with 72-1X

I had to work tonight and couldn't get thru on the shops phone today, I am limited in how many opportunities I have to call when I'm working and the phone was always busy. I guess that's a good thing but it makes it hard to leave a message with someone.
I hope it didn't cause any problems for anyone.
I guess I shoud have posted a note on here to let everyone know, it might have been better.
Well I hpoe all went well tonight and everyone had a good time.

Home, home on the range. Aw yes, it was getting hot and muggy outside this evening but it was cool and dry in the range, very nice.
I noticed that the showroom had a very nice sellection of firearms this evening. They even have some Cimarron Arms in stock now.
I seldom take time to look around the store because I'm busy cleaning, but tonight I spent some time just looking at what they have to offer and it is great and getting better.

Well now, let's get to the scores of this evenings match.
    M. Hinkle took 1st. and 2nd. place this evening with 277-7X and 273-6X in.22 cal. followed by

    Rob Voland with 242-4X
Tom Dobbs with 237 in .22 cal.

To start with, bring 30 rounds of any (handgun) caliber that you can find ammo for.
Eye and ear protection and handgun of your choice. $12.50 for range fee and $1.50 total for three targets (I think), maybe less.
This is for fun and fellowship.
We will see how it developes over time and may have a (free standing) rifle shoot in the future.

The targets will be NRA B2 and B3 at least for now or untill/if we run out, more are ordered.

We will be shooting at 50 feet (16.5 yards).

So is this an open invite for anyone? What day and time is it? I would like to try it out.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in posting the scores.

Boy Tuesday morning when I was cleaning the showroom at the gun shop it was huuuuuuuuuuumid and hot so I went back to the range and cooled off in the cool dry air for a few minutes so I could get my breath and it was just as nice that evening also.
That's just one of the really nice things about this range.

    Well OK, down to business.

Brian Brumbaugh in .22cal took top honors with a 288-9X and 280-8X.
    Next was
Mr. Hinkle in .22cal with 280 and 276-2X
Robert Combs in .22cal shot 279 and 223
Chuck Brinson in .22 rifle shot 247-1X and 226
    Woody Burton in .40cal shot a 158-3X and 154
    Rob Voland in .45 ACP shot a 140 and in 9mm shot a 159
Wallace Pulley in 38 spl shot a 124

So there you have it, the scores are getting better.
    Have a great week everybody.

    Hi guys and girls.
Well I was able to get off early from work last night so I could make it to the shoot, Steve was off with a terrible migraine headache and couldn't make it.

We had a new shooter last night and he did well considering he had new sights that were not zeroed, he shot a 206-1X.
I don't remember his name because I'm getting old and he didn't sign his target but let's all make him feel welcome.
Robert Combs took top honors with 281-7X in .22 rifle and 237-2X in .22 pistol.
Rob Voland shot 185-1X and 168-1X in .45 cal.
Wallace Pulley shot 145-1X and 127-1X in 9mm

I noticed there were some new light bulbs on the range and they changed the filters this weekend and we had great air flow.
I couldn't help but notice how much smoke was going down range away from the shooters, nice!
Have a great week everyone and we'll see you next week.
