I'm talking about the Party Name. Officially, it's not the Democrat Party, it's the Democratic Party. It's fine and not pejorative to call members of the Democratic Party "Democrats". They call themselves that. That's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that if you call the party "Democrat Party", it IS a pejorative. Let's put it this way. If you're in a conversation with some persnickety Democrats, and you refer to their party as the "Democrat Party", it will probably **** them off.

The reason for my interest, is that I was just in a conversation a couple of days ago with some Democrats who were trying to say that Republicans are ignorant of proper grammar. I said, no, Republicans don't call your party "Democrat Party" because they don't know any better. They call you that out of contempt. They're implying that there's nothing Democratic about your party.

So, when GFGT said there's a distinction between Democrat Party and Democratic Party, that piqued my curiosity because I wanted to know if this was his take as well.

Recap: Democrat <---- NOT pejorative. Democrat Party <--- pejorative.

Does that make sense now?

I saw that on the news. Too funny and true. She asked him to say something to her children, he did! LOL. I'm glad he added the thing after the "tools" part. I've often wondered why there was never any pushback. Good to see it. This was right up there with ""Why don't we dunk him in water..."
