We need to go back to state legislations appointing senators and we need to lower the term of senators to 4 years and set a limit of 2 terms and 4 terms for congressmen.
Also eliminate lifetime healthcare and bennefits and free college for them and their kids too.
Also no more lifetime pay. **** that. These pieces of **** dont treat veterans even an eighth as good as they treat themselves .

They don't receive a "lifetime pay" That is a myth.
They do however receive a pension. The amount depends on how long they served.
Similar to my pension. The longer I work, the more my pension is.
But, my pension will never be enough to equal what I make while I'm working.
    and neither will theirs.

I am all for going back to state legislatures appointing senators. Going away from that was shortsighted mistake born in populism. I’m fine with 6 year terms....2 of them.

Antonio Scalia was very fond of saying that direct election of senators was the functional death of what was left of federalism/state's rights.

When did it change and who appointed them before? :dunno:

Yeah I knew it was a pension. I guess I should have been more specific. Getting paid is getting paid to me. Its dirty.

I'm all for giving them the benefit of our social security system. They get the same payroll deductions as the majority of us do. They get a social security check based on the same characteristics we get evaluated on. No pension.

I'd think things would run smoother if the state appoints the Senators.
I read their reasoning but I don't speak lawyer. Why did they choose to vote them in? I wish we had someone here that was alive back then.

Hey, Lets ask that Mouse. :):

Same reason as people want the electoral college eliminated.
    They want mob rule
and they think they will be able to control the mob.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to HoughMade again.

The thing about a lot of Babylon Bee articles is they make sense.

But I wish that the "Mob" would put down the "Rabble and take back their name.

Albert Anastasia would never have stood for this.

Fun fact: The mafia, overwhelmingly politically conservative.....don't normally vote, though.

I watched every single episode of The Sopranos. The guy in the picture above is way too skinny to be a made guy. And way too young for the bow tie. Only the [STRIKE]mobsters [/STRIKE] organized criminals over 75 wear bow ties.

As to the bow tie, I reached the same conclusion by studying real mafioso as a hobby. As for the weight, there is about 1/4 to 1/3 that are not morbidly obese.
