Whatever happened to the Koch brothers? Seems like they were the left's bogey man for awhile, but were they mostly associated with the Tea Party stuff?

When someone would bring them up, I always brought up Soros. They always said, "That's DIFFERENT".

And then I'd bring up all the rich celebrities, and rich heads of the Democrat Party, and laugh.

The Koch Brothers are big time NeverTrumpers. Enemy of my enemy sort of thing for the left. Or maybe there is no notoriety in picking on the losers?

It’s real. They have a manifesto. They have leaders. The leaders openly advocate a separate but equal policy. They openly call themselves white nationalists.

Yes, but the key difference is that they have nobody in the main of the Right willing to give them a platform.

Meanwhile on the Left, the extremists DEFINE the platform.

I'll start a business making penis hats and printing yard signs and t-shirts saying "Not MY Congress #RESIST". I'll make a killing. ;)

Why the purple DD?? I think you're on to something. Have you checked on who has the rights to "penis hat"??

After failing to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation, Democrats wonder if it's time to be more ruthless

I mean, there was that thing about trying to assassinate a bunch of Republicans on a baseball field... but, yeah, go on... step up the rhetoric a bit more.

Unless you have your head fully up the DNC's ass, there is no way you can't see the Democrat's strategy as a smear campaign. And if Dems don't want people to believe it was a smear campaign, they should try acting a lot less like it's a smear campaign.

“They are more ruthless,” said Jennifer Palmieri, who over a quarter-century has served as a top aide to Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. “And I don’t want to be like them. … The answer can’t be for Democrats to be just as cynical.”

More ruthless. Right. So you get this letter from a bat **** crazy leftist sister in arms, from bat **** crazyland, Palo Alto, California. And you think, wow. If only we could substantiate this. Ooh, we'll ask the FBI to investigate it. Crap. They said there's nothing there. Ooh. We're US Senators. We have investigators. [Ain't no way they didn't try to substantiate it with their own investigation.] This is game/set/match if they find corroborating evidence. But crap. No evidence. Just her word against his. So you hang onto it, because you know it's just an accusation. But if things get desperate, maybe you can build a case from paper maché.

But then it's the 11th hour and those evil Rubes still have the votes to confirm. Only hope now is to try to stall, and pray to the goddess Margarete Sanger for a blue wave in November. Oh wait. We have this letter. But she doesn't want to come forward. And there's zero evidence that she's not full of ****.

AhHA! We'll just "leak" it to the press. They'll report on it. And we'll then be able to pressure her into testifying. Doesn't matter if it's uncorroborated, we'll have people coming out of the woodwork making allegations. When we get done with him his family will want to disavow him.

"Professor Blasey-Ford? This is Dianne Feinstein.....yes, we know. It's all over the news. No, I don't know how the letter got leaked. Honest. I'm totally not crossing my fingers. Must have been a staffer or maybe the janitor. I have no idea how it got...listen. We need you to come forward and help us out on...I know, you're a meek little mouse with a squeaky ass voice. Don't worry. You'll sound totally legit. Just say a bunch of psychobabble. No one will know it's bull****...Oh, and we'll have help. We're bringing in the big guns. We'll get the creepy porn lawyer in on this. It'll be...now hold on, before you hang up, listen...please don't hang up...you'll be worshiped! Yes. You'll be a queen goddess in your home town. Everyone will love you, and honor you with proclamations!"

    "Oh, you'll do it? Great."

Oh yes. The dems are too pure to resort to dirty tricks like those republicans. After all...

This is more or less the Michelle Obama Doctrine, as articulated at the 2016 Democratic convention, just a few weeks before Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump: “When they go low, we go high.” Post-Kavanaugh Democrats interviewed this weekend aren’t exactly repudiating this idea—but they are qualifying it in important ways. As they articulate it, their answer is to be more realistic about what they see as Republicans’ strategy to disregard principle and process in their pursuit of power—as they argue the GOP did in ramming through Kavanaugh despite accusations of sexual assault—and more disciplined in a long-term way in fighting back.

Ramming through Kavanaugh? Republicans allowed opportunities for the unsubstantiated accusation to heard, and later investigated further. But seriously, "we'll go high"? You brought in the creepy porn lawyer for cryin' out loud. And it's a "strategy to disregard principle...in their pursuit of power"? Every opportunity to substantiate the accusations was given.

One can find valid reasons that disqualify Kavanaugh. But if you came away thinking that any of that theatrical program the Democrats put on is one of them, you're bat **** crazy too. Seriously. You're delusional. Tribal. Biased. Indoctrinated. You should probably seek therapy. But not from Dr. Ford. She's probably too busy with award dinners and parades in her honor as a fallen soldierette in the battle against evil.

One good thing about the Kavanaugh saga was that it prevented the internet from the regularly scheduled fight over Columbus Day.

Though it may be too early to make that prediction.

It's also put most of the gun control talk on the back burner for a while.

In terms of the hat idea... and I'm trying very hard to be circumspect... I think we all see every day how people who might otherwise agree with each other on many topics act like total jackwagons. Not to mention how our elected leaders act.

It is not farfetched to me that such people would line up for a hat that reflected that behavioral standard.

Put a certain logo on it (or cross market it with a couple different logos) and it'd make a million dollars.
