They day my children are told their father is a rapist is the day some will find out just how "unjudicial" I can be. I come from military/blue collar roots in the Dakotas, not Jesuit prep school in Maryland.

This whole thing disgusts me to a point it has fundamentally changed my attitude about public service.

I personally agree. I would not be able to take that ****.

Two men I have great respect for are Mr. Trump and Judge Kavanaugh.

I believe that some republicans are taking a cue from them and realizing that they can stand up to the democrats and media.

For example Lindsey Graham "If you don't like what I say, I don't give a ****."

It's about time they take that stance. They are beholden to the constitution, not special interest. It's high time we take this Republic back to being a constitutional republic and not the democracy everyone thinks it is

So looking back objectively, I wasn't really old enough to be involved with the Clinton election.

How credible were the claims against him?

I remember all the claims, and he did make a small mea culpa by saying that he had done things that caused pain in the marriage that he regretted. Not much coverage and certainly no hearing and senate testimony. I think a lot of dc leadership probably fit that mold and probably still does so pushing it wasn't productive. Whitewater and Monica brought it all back up again, but this time he chose denials and legal hair splitting until faced with the physical DNA evidence. He was impeached for lying under oath, not for the actual acts themselves. Personally I always felt that he should have just fessed up, I don't see where it would have cost him much politically.

In politics you're fair game for just about anything. It's just a matter of how the "he said, she said" is perceived.

Far more evidence and about 12-15 accusers altogether, but he was a democrat and the press was eager to protect him and trash the women.
Web search "bimbo eruptions" for more information.

Well the rape allegations were never really investigated, so there's that. Juanita Broaderick (sp?) is at least as credible as Dr. Ford....much moreso in many ways in that she made a contemporaneous complaint and had a vivid memory of it.

He paid Paula Jones $850k. That says something.

Monica Lewinsky? Not assault at the time, but 2018 standards? Obviously he did that and that's a 50 something guy taking advantage of an intern- consent or not, that's slimy. He eventually admitted it.

The real story with that one was how the Hillary (and the media) all attacked the various accusers; I mean, it was brutal. And the rest of the dems said, "if he did do it, and that's a big if, then it was just about sex, and we don't believe he really did it anyhow". I may not be saying it exact, but it was a big difference to what we've seen recently. I'm guessing you've heard the famous James Carville quote about one of the accusers: "If you drag a hundred dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find" He said that in public, and that pretty much describes the Dems attitude at the time.

So looking back objectively, I wasn't really old enough to be involved with the Clinton election.

How credible were the claims against him?

So what's the thinking on the spineless Flake and the senators from Maine and Alaska? Do they have the votes to get him confirmed yet?

Retired Justice Stevens says Kavanaugh does not belong on the high court because his blistering testimony during the hearing demonstrated a potential for political bias. Wonder if he would say the same about Ginsburg? Seems to me she's been a pretty outspoken critic of Donald Trump. While we're at it she may have a drinking problem too. (that last line is a sarcastic one) Say's she's not 100% sure she was sober during an Obama 2015 STOTU address.
