Oh, I get it. I mean you make a good argument for the possibility of it occurring, not a good argument to do it. The fact you felt obliged to post that, though, goes back to my point. Being labeled a pedo is worse than being a racist with leprosy and a chronic flem-spewing cough as far as social acceptance.

Wasn't that long ago being labeled gay had a similar stigma. A generation or 3 of social evolution, who knows what will no longer be considered vile.

Good argument, but pragmatically who's going to be the public face for pedophilia?

I'd note while a 16 year old can consent to sex, they cannot consent to photograph it. Who's going to lead the charge for child pornography? Being labeled a pedo is more damaging than being confirmed a racist into today's society. There's going to have to be a major shift before those arguments about murderer=sex consent get much play in the public realm.

Indiana just lowered the age of consent for both sex and photo/video to 14 in many circumstances last year. The trend is definitely in that direction.

Today, as long as there is a 'relationship' with the little 7th or 8th grader, not only can he have whatever sexual congress he wants, he can also walk around with as many images of junior getting penetrated in as many different ways as his phone can hold.

It is codified in a number of places and forms in the revised code. IC 35-42-4-9(e) is one such place. 35-49-3-4 is another variation. It isn't the most well written law, while it facially applies to anyone under 22, mathematically it sometimes cannot.

It was referred to as the "Romeo and Juliet" law and was largely a response to some over eager sexting prosecutions. Unfortunately almost no one bothered to read what was actually in it.
