I heard all of the glock 17's from ISP are headed to Isreal. Troops won't get a chance to buy them back.

    Welcome to INGO.
He speaks the truth...I saw the email that was sent. If they want to use another weapon other than the Glock they will have to buy holster, mag pouches and gun themselves.

I have a glock17 and a M&P40c. Never a ftf or fte in either gun. I trust both, BUT my m&p after roughly 800 rnds broke the feed ramp, not sure of the exact name of this part.

Ive got a brother in ISP and he said that they were going to go away from the g17s....He said they were considering G21 gen4, sw m&p & some model of SIG...My bet is they stick with Glock or go M&P...either platform is a great gun really...they need to go to .45 though

They're going to issue glock 21s but we have the option to purchase approved other guns at our own expense.

The Glock decision was made a while back, but some expressed the desire for additional options. The opportunity for a trooper to carry what they prefer is new. It will cost the individual some, but the truth of the matter is that they will have the opportunity, and that is the something new as well.

Has anyone seen the list of approved guns? I'd be interested to know what other options they're giving the Troopers.
