Why? Would folks rather have these idiots in the downtown Indy core, where like .0000001% of the population lives, shooting guns, or back in their hometowns shooting guns?

Could you imagine if the Black Expo migrated to suburban Indy?

There would be a lot of preemptive shooting, as well as return fire. Both from the residents.

Reminiscent of the Rev. James David Manning, Ph.D. speaking. :)

Anytime downtown is fun and realtively safe if you pay attention to whats going on around you. (other than BE weekend) The city does a great job keeping the BS to a minimum other than the beggars. The servers at the resturants would be glad to see you, They dont care for BE weekend either.

If you watch the video where people/kids are over flowing the side walks and blocking traffic. Gas stations are full with older adults Bsing and showing off there 62 pos car with the 30" wheels. Traffic sucks because they dont obey the lights or laws.Thats was the general scene down there.

Of course this may of just been my observations on a bad night at 1am.

I was on a motorcycle, and didnt feel threaten or unwanted.

Plus I got to watch some porn...well a lot of porn being played in the TV of cars.:rockwoot:

At IBE 2 years ago a group of nonviolent attendees in a minivan jumped out on a friend of mine and i attempting to steal our bikes. I'm glad you were lucky, but i wouldn't recommend riding a motorcycle down there after 8pm.

    black Americans

Just to be clear...what exactly *is* the "PC" term? I honestly don't know.
I've seen "black", I've seen "African-American", I've seen "Colored", and I've seen "Negro".
"Black" seems acceptable by organizations like "Miss Black USA".
"African-American" is what I hear on TV/radio all the time by people referring to themselves.
"Colored" is part of the supported acronym "NAACP" (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People).
"Negro" is part of the acronym in "UNCF" (United Negro College Fund).

Are all of these terms acceptable because they are acceptable by that community themselves? And if not, what makes that determination?

Black works for me the same as the white box that I check when asked about me.

I'm not really big on being pc though.

I feel sorry for the quality black Americans they have to be embarassed by this.

Being a black guy myself, I feel no embarassment on this topic of the shootings or trouble that may happen after these events. Over 40 years of history of the IBE it has turned into an after hours party, car show, loitering, gathering. The events and exhibits that go on for the expo is great. Lots of love shown from numerous races that are not only black but all colors. I have seen over the last few years how the diversity of the crowd has grown in all colors of race. People come from all over the country to participate in the events. The lack of respect for one another via certain people is what causes the trouble imo. Starts from one person maybe stepping on someones foot, bumping them in the crowd, negative comments said etc. Then its on from there via fights shootings etc. I have been downtown during these times in past years. These last couple years I have gotten older and wiser to not participate at all during anything after the events are over. Thats where the trouble brews. I used to have a car that I would like to show off during these times. I can say that it was fun to show off get the complements etc. Then it all just got old worrying about if somone is going to try and steal my car, rob me etc. Only embarassment I feel is for the ones that have no self respect or self respect for themselves no matter what the color is durning the IBE weekend.

Sorry if i misspelled some things. :n00b:

And i thank u sir for the midget rep :D

So what's the common denomanator of the problem people?

Lack of education and wisdom that comes with age?

"Black" seems to be acceptable by most.

Heres 8 minutes of news vid. The fight in this video shows lack of respect for one another, public servants etc. To fight right in front of the officers for seems like no reason or just trash talking probably. But im just guessing. The 6:20 mark on the vid.

Thats it right there IMO! And the RESPECT issue that goes along with it.

I would rep u again but I cant for now.

Those, and the unchecked emotions that always occurs with a lack of sufficient rest, and too much alcohol.
