Anytime downtown is fun and realtively safe if you pay attention to whats going on around you. (other than BE weekend) The city does a great job keeping the BS to a minimum other than the beggars. The servers at the resturants would be glad to see you, They dont care for BE weekend either.

If you watch the video where people/kids are over flowing the side walks and blocking traffic. Gas stations are full with older adults Bsing and showing off there 62 pos car with the 30" wheels. Traffic sucks because they dont obey the lights or laws.Thats was the general scene down there.

Of course this may of just been my observations on a bad night at 1am.

I was on a motorcycle, and didnt feel threaten or unwanted.

Plus I got to watch some porn...well a lot of porn being played in the TV of cars.:rockwoot:

Weren't you in jacket, helmet and gloves with no skin showing? :dunno:

Lol, I took my dog to the store with me, well she waited in the car. She could tell I got her a Dental Treat b/c she was wired up on the way home and kept buggin me until I gave it to her. Then she disappeared for 20mins until it was gone!

I think he was making reference to blacks in this country calling themselves "African Americans". Even some families that have lived here for 100yrs go by African American instead of American. There are no African Canadians, just Candians. Or at least I think that's what he meant.

I actually think you are correct in this observation, now that Im looking back at it.
It is strange to use P.C. term.

I never understood many, sometimes I attempt to use them and fail miserably at it

As a side note I just went to Marsh is Broad Ripple, well around 1:30 and BR was packed! More traffic and cops than I've seen up here in a long time. More Hoopty's and crotch rockets too. Went by Steak n Shake on Keystone for a milk shake but it looked like IBE North, not an open seat. Came home and had a couple Sunny D and Absolutes instead. :yesway:

The Marsh in BR isnt too far from me. BR on Friday and SAT are usually packed. I've witnessed quite a turning. 15 years ago the crowd was quite different.
I predict it will be ghost town in less than 10-15 years at this rate, just following the trends of other 'hotspots'.

I eat sometimes at that Steak n Shake, the workers love my daughter, so it's nice to go where your known.

    Lately, we've been home bodies.

When I first started going to BR as a kid it was all tied dyed, incense and artist. It slowly became more and more commercial until all the true flavor of the area is gone, much like Nashville has lost all of it's charm and artist and just sells mostly Chinese crap now.

IBE will be over tomorrow Doc.

I grew up around the punker kid age.... Saw the dark heavy metal folks alot on they're skateboards.

BR sure has lost alot of it's spunk.

Thankfully, I got a exam at IUPUI on monday and I might have had to miss it if it was still going on, because I sure wasn't going down there without my .45 if it was still going on.

When I had some classes there about 25 yrs ago I had a Walther PPK with me most of the time. ;)

I think if the general population of indiana knew what was going on downtown Indy it would be the end of the expo.

Right now, the argument FOR the Expo is $$$$. The argument against is violence. So far, it appears a few shootings and assaults are worth the money. I keep wondering how bad is has to get before "we" have had enough.

On another note, the national news (NBC) just reported violence in Indy, but failed to report the name of the event. Just the national exposure our city needs.

Why? Would folks rather have these idiots in the downtown Indy core, where like .0000001% of the population lives, shooting guns, or back in their hometowns shooting guns?

If the general public knew of the happenings of a lot of things, it would be the end of not only the expo, but many other types of events and organizations.
