Sounds good to me... Nick since you already have their number do you want to call them?

Have we figured out if we are engraving the "trigger pack" or the "upper receiver"?

yes but not all those parts listed apply to the Scorpion. Even with a US muzzle device and stock it doesnt meet the requirements. If the mags were US.....

Is EVERYTHING on this imported? If so it will be pretty tough to meet 922

Under the table gun control. They sneak crap like 922 in to silently nibble away at it.

There will be a US company along shortly to start making parts. With the price point on this gun, and the popularity of SBR's, it's inevitable.

From what I can guess, the scorpion has 12 or 13 922r parts. To be compliant, it has to have 10 or fewer foreign parts.

    Frame/Receiver - 1
    Barrel - 2
    Muzzle device - 3
    Bolt carrier - 4
    Trigger - 5
    Hammer - 6
    Pistol grip - 7
    Forearm/handguard - 8
    Magazine body - 9
    Magazine follower - 10
    Magazine floorplate - 11
    Stock - 12

Since it's a blowback operated 9mm I'm imagining the bolt is part of the carrier and not separate like it is with an AR-15? If the bolt is separate from the carrier, that makes 13?

From what I've looked into, mechanically altering a foreign part, makes it an American made part. If you would have the barrel cut down 3/4 of an inch and re-threaded to 1/2x28, the barrel would then no longer be considered a foreign part.

Geissele needs to make a trigger pack.

Magpul can come out with a new pistol grip unless it's part of the frame. Magpul magazines.

Put on an American made muzzle device.

It's all possible if these companies see there is a demand.

Would stripping the finish off of the bolt and rebluing it be considered altering it?

Under certain circumstances reblueing a firearm could be considered manufacturing in the eyes of the ATF.

To what extent does something need to be altered to no long count against you?

And why 3/4 of an inch? does the ATF actually state a set amount that would have to be removed to make the barrel compliant?
