I just did mine in five minutes or less on an iPad. I have the plastic UT and AZ so I wanted the IN to be able to keep them all together. I travel several states for my job, and don't really want to carry my filing cabnet everywhere I go, so I just keep it in my wallet.

Ditto - I frequently go to Kentucky, Tennesseee, Michigan, Illinois (Oh wait...)

I think they should upgrade us to plastic for free as a courtesy. Especially since they never asked for permission from US to fold our info into the driver's license database.

The firearms license database has nothing to do with the driver's license database. Two completely different systems managed by two different agencies.

Any time there is a major technology rollout there are always some glitches. How quickly those glitches get remedied is the key. Many successfully logged on and applied for a duplicate and others for their initial license. The key is to fix the program so all can have a error-free experience when completing any transaction involving Indiana firearms licenses. The program is managed by ISP with a vendor doing the tech development work.

How is it that LTCH information is returned (without asking for it) at the same time when a drivers license number is called in?

System is working fine now, I just paid for mine about an hour ago. Now lets see how long it will take to receive plastic in hand.

    No it's not as of 11:22am 10/2/14

Using IE, Chrome and Firefox, when the form comes up, it has no
    choices of State of Birth.
When I click on it to choose a state, depending on which browser, it either does nothing or just a long empty column comes up with no choices.

Then when it's run, it STILL says "No results found".

As somebody who's written code in the past, it REALLY bugs me when somebody writes code, and doesn't even bother to quickly run though it for even OBVIOUS ERRORS.
This must be another case the contract to write the code being given to somebody for reasons OTHER than the ability to write solid code.

Actually I'm relieved to see others are getting this error as well. I've seen it every time so far and was starting to get worried I wasn't in the system. Still getting every time I try.

IDACS (LE network) is a message switch and based upon name and DOB can query multiple databases (NLETS, NCIC, Protective Order Registry, Sex Offender Registry, Firearms Licenses Database, VGTOF and others) some automatically and others after the appropriate message key in used. All are separate databases.

I processed my duplicate license request this morning in about 2 minutes even including setting up the User Id / Password that is now required. The site was very easy to use and took minimal effort to get the license processed. Now lets see how long it will take to receive.?? The ISP is saying 2-3 business days. I will keep you posted.

How long have you been with the company that set this system up? Do they pay well? How 'bout the fringes? Healthcare? Company car?

No Results Found for me. I guess I don't exist.

[STRIKE]Also, for the State of Birth question I'm getting countries, not states. Are those that are getting their "paperwork" accepted getting this as well?[/STRIKE]

Nevermind, I didn't notice they mixed the states in with every country on Earth
    I still don't exist though.

No results found. I got my lifetime the old way in 2008. I called ISP and they said it's a 'glitch' that we aren't showing up and it should be fixed soon. We will see...

bf says you don't have to carry it. My IMPD neighbor told me a story how he has had a run in twice with a thug carrying w/o his LTCH but claims he has one. He learned carrying the card when you're carrying the firearm is a requirement.

See if you can prove/disprove that. This officer is referred to as "The Professor" so I lean toward his perception of the law.

By this reasoning, I know a few officers that should be porn starts and experts on feminine hygiene products. Im sure that your neighbor is a swell guy, but the older I get, the more I learn that nobody knows everything. This seems to only be exacerbated by the internet rumors and hearsay, and shrinking availability of actual printed materials based on facts.

What determines which databases are checked automatically and which need to be asked for?
How and when did the LTCH become part of the automatic checks?
