There is a differential between intentionally targeting civilians and causalities incurred to civilians while in the process of eliminating the enemy combatants and their armament who hide amongst them. Those enemy combatants are solely responsible for putting them in harm's way.

The IDF even went to great efforts to warn the civilians to get out of northern Gaza and it was Hamas that were preventing them from doing so.
    Yep.

Even though Putin is in elbow deep with Syria and Iran, I can't imagine he wants a flare up of Islamists in the North Caucasus.

The Chechens gave Russia all Russia could handle in the mid 90s and, again, in the 2000s. There wasn't peace until the Kadyrovs were paid off by the Kremlin and, essentially, made rulers of the Chechan Republic...whatever republic means in that part of the world.

Addendum: Contrast what Hamas is doing against what the IDF is doing which is to evacuate their own civilians from hotspots and try to shield them from harm instead of using them as shields. The IDF does not hide amongst their civilians.

Peace could be had with Israel if it was genuinely sought. Jordan made peace with Israel; Egypt made peace with Israel. The Saudis and other Arabs were in the process of making peace with Israel initiated by the Abraham accords before it got derailed by the Hamas attack which provoked a subsequent response from Israel.

Iran, Syria, Yemen and their proxy fighters the Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah are not peace brokers. Islamist radicals are stumbling blocks preventing the Gazans and Lebanese from realizing that same peace.

    No it cant.

You cant have peace with someone who genuinely wants you dead and will only rest until you are.

That's what I meant in my second paragraph. My first paragraph demonstrates that peace can be had by those that are willing. Those mentioned in the second paragraph are not willing to let that happen.
