No. I’m just fascinated how some folks want to change the rules when things don’t go their way.

It was only a matter of time till this discuss devolved to this.

Please explain how this sort of rhetoric isn't like what I've heard from the left directed to Trump voters.
And for extra credit, please explain how it's helpful.

As long as the 1st amendment exists and the left hasn't completely destroyed it there is nothing wrong with making any comparisons to anything that one wants.

Don't act like anything is taboo just because the comparison is uncomfortable for you.

That's none of my business and I never called you any names. You need to take a step back and a cup of tea would be helpful. Casting pearls is another term for wasting time.
I agree it's none of your business but you referred to me as a leftist, Then you threw half a biblical quote at me. "casting pearls before the swine" is a term that means smart people shouldn't waste their incredible knowledge on dumb people.

Let's just leave my German heritage out this, shall we?

If you're internet argument involves Nazis, then you're not winning.

Curious. With respect to the big money behind the bat **** crazy leftists - do you think the end game actually is communism or to tear the system apart to make way for oligopoly? I just can't see a Soros type believing he would have more of whatever it is he wants in a communist system unless what he wants is pretty ****ed up.
That is exactly what I was thinking. They may want some progressive utopia, but I do not think it is a Communist society.

Because some things are objectively true. Rhetoric based on lies is more egregious than that which isn't. You'd be hard pressed to find any sort of support for fascism among trump supporters but the dems have elected avowed socialists to Congress, prominent members are talking about making lists of political enemies, they are passing legislation with the express goal of stripping their political opposition of power to name just a few. This is how authoritarian regimes come to power. Read history. There are those of who can see it, and those who either can't or don't want to admit it.

As to how it's helpful, maybe if those in 1910s Russia, 1930s Germany, 1940s China had spoken out more forcefully against the totalitarian forces at work to take control of their countries, 100 million people wouldn't have had to die. Some people need to wake up.

Well 1930s Germany was an educated society. Why do you think those educated civilized people did what they did? Because they didn't think they were capable of such things. Sort of like you're claiming now.

Probably because of things like this:
Combined with outrageous inflation and declining quality of life.

Well 1930s Germany was an educated society.

It happened in Germany and it is real and part of history.

It is an example of a society gone horribly wrong when radical leadership gained complete unrestricted power.

We, in America, are at a point where radical leadership has nearly complete power. One court packing and making DC a state and they will have complete unrestricted power.

For decades now people have been saying "Why didn't the German people do something about it?"
In the future will the people be saying "Why didn't the American people do something about it?"

Well, where do we begin... rampant inflation, bad feelings from the getting kicked in the teeth after WWI, having to take full blame from WII, poverty, countering communist influences, the rise in fascism and nationalism across Europe...

And not every (educated) person in Germany went along with it.

For example, make a video of you pissing on a Glock and then shooting it with a 1911 45ACP, basically God's choice in personal sidearms. OMG. Look out. The Glock fanbois will be hopping mad. They are certain that is the unpardonable sin and you will go to hell for it.Q

This thread is unreal, injecting the most contentious gun topic to lighten it up.

I'm sure for each horrible regime that came into power, there were folks as equally impassioned, equally certain they knew the truth, and equally certain their enemies must be destroyed, equally sure they weren't supporting a fascist dictator, equally assured of their righteousness, and equally sure that theirs was the path to freedom and happiness as you are today.

Not trying to be confrontational, but the real communists are happy there are people who think like you do. They do not want to get along, they want to destroy your way of life. Better that you recognize the threat than insist on singing kum by yah.
Please don't diss the song, bushwacker. It always makes me relax, when I hear it sung all proper-like. ;)

    Lyrics
    Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya

    Someone's crying Lord, kumbaya

One of the biggest if not the biggest political demographic change of the past few years is the higher educated shifting from republican to democrat, usually lead by females. They no longer care about the corporate tax like they once did (not that some still don't) they are now being focused on social credit by the powers that be. Look at all the woke corporations out there now. The educated are flocking to it...

I think there are two competing factions. The communists/bat **** crazy woke progressives and the crony establishment. The latter I gues we could say are the oligarchs. The former are just useful idiots. I mean if we’re speculating.

Far left progressives sure act like they want communism. They may differ on what variety. Antifa wants anarcho-communism. BLM seems to like Maoism.

Nancy Pelosi and her ilk put up with the squad, Bernie, BLM, uses antifa to help the cause. I doubt she wants communism/socialism.
