I agree 100%. We have every right to sound like gay retards if we want...

I don't think anyone is disagreeing that the work "gay" can and is used to be derogatory and is taken as derogatory, but why do we have commercials about it? There is no "Be bigger don't say Ni88er" or "Don't be a runt by calling your woman a C2nt" commercials?!?

The use of "Jewed down" is still common in Indiana. And when I hear it I wonder if the person is really an Anti-semite or just a jerk. It's not polite to say the least...

You're free to use it all day if you want. But don't be surprised if it changes how I deal with you. Hope you didn't need that repair done quickly or wanted to be invited to the next cookout!

I think it is so commonplace to some that say it, just use it as a standard word, not even thinking about it in a derogatory manner nor meaning to do so.

YES...I could not agree with you more. Sad thing is that many people say these things without a second thought of the meaning behind them. It's ignorance.

It's a sham, the 'gays' have identified themselves with this title/tag; now, they are angry it has backfired on them.

It's just liberal hogwash, i.e. political correctness. We are now supposed to respect them more than they respect themselves. They destroy their own bodies by unnatural acts, insane amounts of drugs and the party lifestyle; but, in their self righteousness, they MUST be respected... anyone who fights for their cause represents this foolishness and also anyone who argues for their cause needs to see the end results of their lifestyles. They die disease infested, lonely and wasted.

It's a shame too, b/c some are decent people who actually try to lead normal lives. But their bedroom activities, and the crowd they must socialize with doesn't afford it. They get stuck, and then those who buy into the 'gay movement' just ag it on... 'good for you for coming out'. Sad, and those who support it are misinformed as well.

Beats me. Why do we have commercials about many of the BS that we see these days. I guess to appeal to those brain dead folks that steer their lives by the commercials they see. Who knows.

"Gay", "jew-boy", "******", "cracker", "wetback", "mick", "gook"...all just words. Words that have disparaging and derogatory meanings. Do you have the right to use them as such? If you've convinced yourself that you do...knock yourself out. But really...why would you?

Are you really that threatened by another race, religion or ethnic background that you have to? I'm not talking PC...but common decency.

But don't hide behind someone's back and do it. Be sure to do it to their face.

    Come on...really? Grow up.

What I'm not sure about is if saying Gay or Fat or ****** would be a prosecutable offense under the 1A's original meaning.

it seems like the only way I hear gay is of course to describe a homosexual or someone saying "That is so gay." "Don't be gay." "How gay." Which is using it in a negative context. Is there not a more intelligent phrase to convey a message?
It's embedded in teenspeak. Right up there with "like" and "you know".
    Homework? That's gay.
    Shoelace broke? Gay.
Forgot to put homework on your memory stick? You're gay.
    Stepped in gum? GAY.
Ripped your pants on something? Totally FRIGGEN gay.

..and THIS is why I do not think it is usually meant as offensive. It is not even thought of in the homosexual context.

I originally meant as infringing on the 1A, but I guess that could work too. I need a lawyer. There's gonna be a LOT of unhappy people out there. Hey, I gotta sue someone to make up for all the people that's going to sue me!!!!

I will have 2 VERY unhappy kids if I hear them saying that crap. I would like to think that I raised them to speak more intelligently than that. In a few years, I'll find out. I never talked like that and I expect my kids to do the same.

As a child we didn't call anything gay like the kids of today...mostly because gay wasn't used to reference the homosexuals, as it is today...
Back then, it was purely QUEER! :)

    I specifically remember hearing people say "queer-bate" a lot.:D

i hate not having optics, or i would agree. and before anyone says it, im not attaching anything to the top of the carrying handle. that looks gay. i also never had a problem w/ the stock pistol grip, until i tried another one. it was like the difference between the "real thing" and using porn.

GREAT! Just found this gem in another thread and I immediately locked on
to it. I would not have paid attention to the word otherwise. I guess now
that I'm on the lookout for it I will have a better excuse to be "upset"
