I think he's saying that he wishes that there was a law against buying ammo while you are carrying a gun because he believes it would have saved his father-in-law's life. I think that's a discussion for a different thread, though.
I took it to mean not being able to purchase a new gun as well as ammo at the same time as opposed to already having a gun and buying ammo. That might have temporarily delayed the outcome.

Delayed, but not changed. It's not enough of a reason to change the law, IMHO. But again, I don't really want to derail this thread again. Feel free to create a new topic on the subject, though. I think it might make an interesting discussion.

When you call the corporate office, the person you talk to just listens to you trying to doing apologetic. They then send an email with your account of the situation to the store where it occured. Every manager has acces to it but nobody is notified until they check a specific screen in the computer. At that point, the manager over the area your complaint is about normally calls or the store manager calls. If you mention to home office that a manager was involved, the email also goes to the market office which is the same as district office. In this situation, the manager you spoke to in he store most likely saw your email and closEd it to avoid someone else seeing it. I have been a walmart manager for 7 yrs and with walmart for 12. I apologize for your experience. I do not nor have I ever worked at the location in question.

Not that this thread hasn't been jacked enough, but how is it possible you were employed by evil walmart for 5 years and then promoted from within to management? I thought that was impossible?! What was your first job with them and would you mind posting your career track?

I've seen many start as a lowly cashier or janitor and move their way up to manager over a certain dept. :dunno:

I started as a lawn and garden associate, moved to Sporting goods, then on to a support manager(hourly supervisor). After that I moved to Assistant Manager. 80% of all managers started as hourly associates.

That is sheer and utter bull. I've been to that same Walmart 30 times in the last several months and I always carry, and I always walk out with several boxes of ammo. Even chatted with an employee about muzzle velocities. And i've bought ammo at 2am a few times before. I had a pinko try and tell me they couldn't sell anything behind the glass, so I went and found the manager (this was at Washington Square Walmart) and he laughed and asked me to point the dumbass out that told me that. AND THEN PERSONALLY RANG UP MY PURCHASE AND APOLOGIZED! I would definitely call them out on that crap. I'm gonna go buy some this week with mine OC and let them try that mess

Costco promotes from within almost exclusively. I have been informed that its the same of the Post Office.

While I see the advantages, and generally agree with the practice.....I see clear disadvantages of business not bringing in fresh ideas from the lower operational levels, as well as that of limiting internal promotional opportunities for higher management.

I,m probably going to ruffle a few feathers here but I really don't see the need to open carry. I really don't care to let others know I'm carrying. If I'm in a store and open carry when a BG pulls a gun for a robbery, I really don't want him to know that I am armed since I may be the first target. It hands the element of surprise back to me when my weapon is concealed and I choose the time to let him know that he really stepped in it.

Several years ago, I purchased several cases of 22lr ammo from Walmart. The manager was called and I was escorted to the door with the manager carrying the ammo. When we were outside the store, the manager handed me the ammo. I asked him why he couldn't carry the ammo to my vehicle? He said the store policy was all ammo sold over a certain quantity was to be escorted to the door by a manager. He also stated that he couldn't sell a firearm with ammo without an escort to the door by a manager - store policy. If you don't like the store policy, don't patronize the store is my policy.

difference being, they did not say it was store policy. They said it was law. That is the whole problem here.
Don't open carry if that is how you choose to carry, don't judge others for how they choose to carry

I really don't see the need to open carry.

At Bagram AB Afghanistan everyone is armed at all times. It's a show of force to the local nationals working on base. They KNOW if they were to start something, they would have a thousand barrels immediately pointed at them.

If that's not reason enough for everyone here to open carry, I don't know what is.

It makes perfect logical sense to me. If I went somewhere with bad intentions, and I KNEW people had weapons, I'd damn sure change my attitude. Someone who would knowingly put themselves in danger in that event would be an extreme exception to the rule.

Having said that, you carry however you want to good Sir. I'll continue to OC. :)

I have a question for both guys who went to that Walmart to buy ammo. Does your grooming style match that of Ashton Kutcher on the left (clean cut) or on the right (not clean cut)?
