You know what the problem with us conservative are don't you? We're to busy working and living our lives to be an activist like so many Democrats.
    :patriot:

Im not a democrat and even I think that is absurd.

This is why I don't have that much hope for America. You either get it or you don't.

Finally we agree, you dont get it.

now you're deflecting. Either stick to the topic, or troll somewhere else.

    Deflecting this comment?

But you and I both know that is not true. He has a known history of anti-American rants in his sermons. It's no secret. Trying to play this one off as a one time ordeal is trolling because we all know you're full of ****.

Really? Ok how about this .... A persons pastor isnt going to change my mind about who i plan on voting for. I DO/DID NOT know about the pastors history reguardless.

Lets say you're an uber christian, and theres only 1 church to go to in your town, and you BELIEVE that if you dont go to church every sunday you will burn in hell. And that pastor was the preacher for that only church in town. Do you still go to that church ( because there are literally NO OTHER OPTIONS) or do you risk spending eternity in hell?

This sounds great in theory. Perhaps when the tea party started it was true. Now it's a mix at about 50/50 last time I looked into it. You have "conservatives" under one banner. The problem is that in the crowd half the people you talk to would say Ron Paul is the icon of their cause. Small government, fiscal responsibility, personal choice, states rights, blah blah blah. I'm in this camp more than any other.

The other half of the members would say Sarah Palin is their champion. Fundamental christian values that "founded" this country should be pushed. Stop the assault on family values, build democracy in countries across the world, fight terrorism in every crevice it may hide on this earth, support our military, stop the gay agenda, blah blah blah.

The tea party is mixed between the two of these vastly different, both "conservative" ideologies. It's scary to me. It seems that there are very few people who believe parts from both, and most will fit firmly within one group or the other and think that THEY represent the conservative cause. THEY are correct, and anyone else is wrong. Right doesn't necessarily mean correct, and you have to be clear which part of the right you are on. To throw silly labels on them, you have the libertarian "right" and the christian conservative "right". I the latter as just as much an enemy of our country as the liberal left. Obviously not everyone will agree with me, and that's everyone's "right" to decide. This mix of conservatives leads to much confusion in the conservative movement. Many people in both camps don't even realize the divide exists.

I would consider myself somewhat of a libertarian...but Ron Paul is by no means my choice. All too often he comes across as a confused old man when he speaks.

There is no perfect conservative candidate out there. But ANY of them are a far cry better than the socialist that we currently have in the White House.

You're theory would be great for the "O" if it wasn't Chicago. KNow how many Christian Churches are in Chicago? THIS shows at least 80. Now, the only reason you keep going to the same church and pastor is if you agree with what he's preaching, especially when there are this many choices.

    So..... you're still wrong. :):

...and that's where I stopped listening. Why talk about something you know nothing about?

Does reading stuff on the internet count as "knowing?" Where do i go now adays to get in the "know?"

Are you saying if someone doesnt attend a certain "event" they shouldnt talk about it? If thats the case YOU shouldnt be talking about Obamas former preacher, unless of course you were there to witness one of those anti american sermons.

To answer your question no I won't go to that church. Why? Because that church doesn't stand for the principals I live by and believe in. You don't go to church just to go you have to believe and even if you don't go to church doesn't mean you're spending your after hours in Hell. I don't go to church because the ones I have found around me suck and filled with arrogant people who are mightier that thou. Doesn't make me a sinner because I still believe in God and live my life by the principals he set.

Just wondering, when is Ron Paul ever come off as a confused old man? Every interview and debate I seen him on he is quick with his answers, keeps his answers the same and not just what he thinks people want to hear, and in my opinion has very good solutions. Anyways just wondering how you think he comes off as a confused old man.

Can't say agree with you. When you start discussing shades of horrible, everyone loses. It's like the speed of light. What's worse than the worst? The worst. It only goes so far down until they are all useless.

if your definition of horrible is that which is not perfect, how in the world will you ever be able to consider an otherwise good candidate anything but horrible? Because there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. Perfection is not a character trait of humans. Paul comes close, but even he's not perfect. So does that make him "so far down" or just "a little bit down?" And would you still consider him "horrible" because he's not perfect?

I voted for Obama, and will again. He changed a lot of things in a positive way for native americans and this country's tribes are better for it. So yes, it has worked out well for me.

Like what? The president has almost nothing to do with native American affairs, that's on the back of congress. So I'd like to hear what he did to improve things.

    Thank you

Native Americans are perhaps the best illustration of what happens when government "helps" a people.

Big government has been devastating to Native Americans.

fearless leader only advances even bigger government.

    I wish you well.

I'm a native American. I was born here, dad was born here, his dad was born here, his dads dad was born here....on and on for more than 10 generations...so what's it take to get some native american benefits?

    Just asking.

True, but that 1 time might have been the only time the rev said anything negative about the US at all. Which would mean the "20 years" Obama was at that church he may have never heard anything like that except that once.

Reverend Wright has been a racist, anti-american for decades. It wasn't just once.
