Two friends out hunting elk with bow.
Bear charges out of bushes right on top of Meyers, who sprints, trips, and falls. Hill drops his bow, pulls “10 mm Springfield” pistol and shoots bear in right side as it goes by.
Bear redirects onto Hill. Hill shoots bear three times in face and once in shoulder before bear grabs his left arm and uses him to beat the earth.
Meyers pulls 1911 .45 ACP, fires four or five shots and gun jams. Clears jam, runs up on bear, keeps shooting. Shoots head and finally spine.
Hill can feel impact of shots thru bear’s grip into his arm. one shot pass by his head. Bear loosens grip slightly and Hill frees arm. Gets his gun off ground and puts three more in bear’s head.
24 shots. 530lb, 20 year old dead bear known locally as “King of the Hill.”
Hill not aware his arm is injured until Meyers tells him to take off his shirt.
Airlifted to the hospital, 40 staples, and a lot of stitches. Luckily no arteries punctured.

Strange dude enters thru sliding door, takes off shoes and sox, approaches sleeping man and woman. When they wake he tells them he’s looking for Rebecca and he’s stayed in their house before. They don’t know him.
Woman gets .22 revolver from nightstand, marches him to front porch, man calls police.
SD gets agitated waiting for cops (no cops on patrol 0200-0700, staffing shortage), wife points gun at him, he wanders away. Somewhere in there she fires two shots, but apparently not directly at him.
Cop finally shows, tracks him down nearby, arrests him for trespass and failing to register as a sex offender. Turns out this is not his first rodeo.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, someone was being robbed. The victim was able to get the gun away from the suspect and fatally shoot him.

Man chases away two teen brain surgeons trying to break into his wife’s car at Oh-Dark-30. Teens flee in a white Camry, but come back and shoot at the man while he’s sitting in his own car. No injuries.
Few minutes later white Camry pulls up behind another car and tries to carjack the man in it, but he shoots at the teens. They flee, once again no injuries.
Police twig onto the white Camry, chase it, crash, driver caughtand sent to the hospital, other teen gets away.
Woman pulls into driveway after coming home from early morning gym session, teen shows up (possibly driving a another car) armed with handgun and tries to take her keys. Husband runs out of house and tackles teen, other neighbors hear commotion and show up and help pin down teen. Teen gets arm free and tries to grab his gun. Neighbor armed with shotgun shoots him in the leg. Police arrive and take into custody.
