Year ago June man in vehicle on I-25 gets stopped by another car with two brothers. He shoots both brothers fatally and attempts to leave scene “for safety.” Nearby plainclothes cop stops him. He is arrested and charged with 2x1st degree murder.

Denver DA has now decided man has strong case for self-defense and has dropped charges.

Should have put him on a slow boat, not airlifted.

Damn shame current bf didn't put him 6 feet under. Would've saved taxpayers a bunch of money. But Kudos for ending the the threat

At 0300 cops respond to medical call from an apartment about 3 minutes from first incident to find a large male with GSW to torso. Cops apply chest seal and await fire department, who transport large wounded male to hospital.

Police say husband, who is licensed to carry, acted lawfully.

Retired Army colonel makes deal on Facebook Marketplace. (As far as I’m concerned this is Red Flag #1) Meets seller at agreed location but seller says trailer not there, have to drive to another location to see it.(RF #2, Bailout! Bailout! Bailout!). Seller rides with buyer (RF#3), pulls knife and holds to buyer’s throat (definitely RF#4). Buyer pulls gun, shoots seller in chest but then gun jams. Buyer tosses gun and exits truck. Seller grabs gun, gets it working and shoots seller 3X, stomach/shoulder/leg.

Passers-by aid buyer, deputies find seller still in truck. Both survive.

“Seller” turns out to be illegal alien. What are the odds.

“Being in the country illegally may get you a free house in California,’’ [District Attorney Chsmp] Crocker said, “but it does not entitle you to immunity from prosecution in Cullman County.”

There used to be threads here to highlight good examples of DGU... so here's one to get back on that track. It's a good thread to have, good to see when firearms are used in a positive way (good guys > bad guys).

Whether it be everyday civilian gun use, or law enforcement stopping a dangerous person... please highlight those here!

    I'll get it started

The writing on this one is a bit confusing... it says one person broke in, then three... and says he wrestled the gun from the intruder, then that he retrieved his own gun. Not sure the article is very well written, but still turns out being good guy > bad guy.

This one has a dumb twist. Alleged robber gets shot, tries to play the victim afterward.

Next one... are internet cafes still a thing in America?

The photo of the guy that got away... looks like a 30rd Glock mag.

Security guard kills 2 armed robbers at Internet cafe
I mean it's just ridiculous that even in cases of justifiable self defense the gun owner will often still be charged

Teen (?) daughter in shower, discovers man starting to crawl thru 1st floor apartment bedroom window, runs for mom. Mom, who has CCL, apparently goes outside and confronts man, tells him she is armed, she will shoot, he should leave. Man continues to climb thru window, mom fires “warning shot” (her words), man flees.

Police answering nearby separate call for GSW find man with leg wound, nab him for break-in. Mom praises police and way they treated her. Video link says CPD took her gun. Presumably ballistics test to match bullet in man’s leg. She said she had gun for years, first time she has used it. She plans to move.

Last I heard, they are supposed to be returning them.
    But...
That applies to weapons NOT being held for evidence.
At first, they have to determine what happened.
Which means it might be taken, while they investigate

In Indianapolis, does it go into the property room for all eternity or are they eventually returning them to the legal owner now?
