yes. I think there are biological and cultural factors that might make it more prevalent for some than others.

Not sure why that made me think of this, but I'm reminded of a distastefully colored website apparently written by the tinfoil brigade :tinfoil: spreading all kinds of manure of all fragrances. Okay so it goes something like this: the virus doing specific things is apparently sufficient evidence to believe that it was designed by evil people to do those things. If it makes certain people more ill than others, the obvious conclusion is that it was designed to target those people specifically and not others.

So, as the story goes, Bill Gates paid China to develop a virus to get rid of old people, diabetics, people with hypertension, copd, poor people, and...yes...also people of color. This is part of his evil plan of eugenics to ease overpopulation and trim out the people not worthy of his grand socialist utopia, all while getting richer by selling the vaccines he financed well before the outbreak.

Yep. That's out there. I can't unread that ****. Free speech is worth the price. But I'm just acknowledging that it's a high price.

It is interesting to me that it seems like many of the same people who believe it likely that the c-virus is a weapon also want to rush to re-open.

That seems disjointed. Putting more people in the kill zone of a weapon doesn't make sense.

"Hey errybody, we're pretty sure a thermobaric bomb is going to get dropped right here, so let's see how many people we can gather 'round. Not everyone will die, but many will. That's ok, though. We really need to exercise our constitutional right to freely gather."

Quit looking for consistency in people and their actions.

Accept application of one's own standards only applies to the opposition.

    You will achieve inner peace.

Welcome back btw. Thought maybe you were sick.

Well our neighbor just extended for another month.
    https://fox59.com/news/coronavirus/...-for-another-month-amid-coronavirus-pandemic/

Hopefully we'll get better news today.

I am bracing for less than good news. Given all the media hype the last few days, and Fouci's own statements, I think all that was to brace us for accepting an extended lockdown. Also, the governors in this region have said they'd do it all together. So I'm not hopeful for much improvement.

    Possibles:

    1) Groundhog Directive: 2 more weeks of quarantine

    2) Lone Ranger Directive: Masks required until Tonto says you can take it off.

    Way to waffle.

That's about as lukewarm as you could possibly make it.

Well, no. Absolutely not. I'm just stating it as truthfully as I can. I think everyone is at least a little racist. I think that's fairly inherent, baked into the firmware. We have to override that feature so that we don't harm people because of it. We teach our children early on to override it or not. Now, if you want to say racists are the people who embrace that programming, and the people who think it's important to override it, are not racists, okay. But I was just taking the meaning of the word most literally. I didn't think I had to explain it.

    An INGO Golden Rule....

Don't ask questions or the assumption will be that the you were making an assumption!

Understood. I figured that if people implied motives for the question not intended, I could address those, which I have. If I don't ask questions, then I'm left with not fully knowing, or having to assume something. Maybe it's better to know nothing than to assume something, but it seems even better to me to ask and know.

Well imo any statistical fact like that is important.
Just like the higher death rate among older folks. More so with preexisting conditions, but as you age more stuff starts to go wrong so it makes sense that this disease targets older folks more.
Also I saw that black folks are more of a higher risk, why? Genetics?
We are all humans and equal, I believe this to my core. But just like with men and women there ARE important differences between the races. Cultural yes but in this I'm also meaning genetically. That's not a dig on any race. It's something we can accept and work to better treat each group medically.

It depends what you think might be interesting about the information. Is it interesting because it informs people about what risks they may have? Is it interesting because it's unexpected? Is it interesting for more sinister reasons? A veiled accusation. Or possibly something racist. I did not expect anything untoward.

When I was little, I asked my parents where my little brother came from.

It was not the answer I was expecting.
