    Looking ahead a bit.

Colts have benefited from a relatively “easier” schedule this year. Now of course credit to them for playing who was in front of them and putting themselves into a position to make the playoffs. Curious to see how see they do next season.

    AFC East
    Bills, Dolphins, Patriots, Jets

    NFC North
    Packers, Bears, Vikings, Lions

Certainly a step up in the quarterbacks they’ll have to face.

Colts might be a better team next year and not get as many wins.
Getting an early start on that optimism formula for next year. Don’t let up!

    Another aspect of this.

If we win the division, that would mean that our games outside of the ones listed above would be against other division leaders. I believe that would mean Ravens, Chiefs, and Niners. I think.

As a reference, because of how we finished last season, this season we played the Patriots, Raiders, and Rams.

Next year’s schedule could be significantly more difficult.

Part of the NFL formula for parity (and a hard salary cap). Really works. It has made pro football king. No one even close. Remember when NASCAR was going to surpass the NFL? I do.

Heck football is so popular a college no name bowl game outdraws big name D1 basketball…

Also a much shorter season compared to baseball and basketball. Every game matters SO much more.

Think about one NBA playoff series. 7 games. That’s almost half an NFL season.
