Why? I don't agree, but I'd like to know the reasoning, in case there's something I haven't thought of or don't know.

I think it lessens the impact to be associated with a commercial spectacle. World Series? OK. 162 ball games per year? Nah. Play America the Beautiful or some other song.

I won't say I get a tear in me good eye every time the Anthem is played, but I think it has more meaning than the sport attempting to use it. They aren't selling patriotism. They are selling hot dogs.

It means something in school. It means something on a parade ground. It isn't as "meaningful" when it stands between a sport fan with a blue painted face with a white horseshoe on it or an orange bronco fan naked in a barrel and the kickoff.

Maybe he's taken too many hits on the head. I guarantee this: if he gets to play again, he's gonna take some awful hits. His own line might move out of the way....

Now he's just being a ****, by intentionally pissing people off. He wants a trade. Someone should start a go fund me page to pay for a plane ticket out of the country. I'll ponder anyone's political opinions, but when you start vomiting up foreign comparisons, my consideration ends there.

Kut (knows there's no better place to be, than here)

    He has started a firestorm.
    Was that his original intentions.
Has this just exploded in his face.
How could anyone see this ending well.
He is taking a serious a$$ kicking.

Birth mother speaks out against the son she gave up for adoption. Classy.

Well that's plain dumb in one way or another; the type of dumb depending on it it was intentional. As he sounds reasonably intelligent, I'm guessing it was intentional.

But ...am I the only one who can't actually tell what's on the shirt?

I'm having trouble seeing how this is helping the cause. I would be distancing myself from him as quickly as possible right now. He looks like a whiny brat.

Maybe you don't consider it shame, but most patriotic Americans would.
