We can't ignore how much of the vote Sarvis got in VA, almost 7%. That is a huge chunk, and the dem won because of it. Hopefully it sends a message to both parties. If you want to win elections, pull the tent higher.

Consider a Christie/Clinton debate. She'll play him like a violin to look like an obnoxious anti-woman thug. Sadly, too many people vote based on skin color or rest room chosen by the candidate.

Christie as the republican candidate will have HClinton in the White House faster than anyone could say WTF! After the last presidential election, when the second republican loser drove people away from the voting booth, a third loser in a row would drive even more away. Many republicans are sick of voting for the lessor of two evils, and the last election showed it. A third will just guarantee our first First "Gentleman" in the White House.

And I'll add with the lefty news people drooling over Christie, then that should make you stop and think.

I really don't want to debate the gun issue. I'm concerned about what Christie's position would be on the issue. And, if a democrat is elected, there is a more likely push for further restrictions.

ps. I had an unfortunate incident and lost all my guns and ammo in the swamp.

Unless he has completely changed his position, Chris Christie - The Second Amendment, I'm not sure a democrat would be more likely to push for further restrictions.

Frankly, I don't understand why so many people seem disturbed about a "gridlocked" Congress. Everything they touch turns to crap and it seems everything they get their hands on costs us more money or more personal freedom. I'd be happy if they couldn't pass one more law - ever.

Oh, come now, Blackhawk, you know that if we could just get a congress that could work together and, ideally, work with the President, no matter their parties, they would immediately start work on addressing this country's biggest problems and work do right our financial ship

Until November 2016 there will be many posts similar to the above. I guess the write in crowd gets a moment of (false) satisfaction in the voting booth. Hope they feel its worth it when another socialist moves into our White House. Not that I expect anyone to care but my plan is simple; I will vote for whoever runs against criminal socialist Clinton. Let the flaming begin!

And I hope you feel it's worth it when another socialist moves into our White House.

There's a reason Romney didn't pick Crispy for his running mate...like a pile of dirt that would bury him.
For example, he lobbied for Bernie Madoff (indirectly) ....That alone would lose the dependent class.
He's already lost the Tea Party....When the rest is made public in Oct. 2016 it's a sure win for the Dem.

No, I haven't seen any polls putting Paul (who I like) and Cruz ahead of Christie in a hypothetical 2016 primary or head-to-head matchup with Hillary Clinton. I'd love to see a link to them.

But let me put it another way:

Do you really think Rand Paul or Ted Cruz will fare better than Christie in swing states like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, and Virginia that a Republican candidate NEEDS to win to get to 270 votes in the Electorial College?

PPP poll puts Rand and Christie each at 16% (Rand has a slight decimal lead).
Yes, Rand Paul will absolutely destroy the swing states, because he can court the Democrats on issues while feeding the Repubs red meat. He leads among independents and true conservatives by a margin that's impossible to fathom. Centrists aren't as excited about him, but he's still pulling decent numbers among them. If he can shut his mouth about James-Yeagering (dueling) people, he will smoke the invisible primary and sail to even more widespread national recognition. Ted Cruz is a Canadian and ineligible to serve, and his filibuster against the PPACA was - wrongfully! - denounced by the leftists as being divisive. Rand's filibuster on drones was something even a lot of Democrats could get behind - don't drone me, bro. It's a tightwire act, but he can walk it. He's got the staff, name recognition, and resources to run the gauntlet. Aside from letting the media occasionally get under his skin by asking obtuse questions, he holds up really well even to the most shrill of talking heads. He has a generally calm demeanor but he can also get fired up when he needs to, and his positions are very defensible across the spectrum. He's a likeable guy and he's a lot less radical than his father was and is. His wife is picturesque, his marriage seems very solid, and I doubt he's ever even smoked crack in Toronto, much less succumbed to a lot of the other scandals that lesser politicians draw themselves into. He's a solid candidate, and I would vote for him twice if I could. A plurality of Republicans and even some Democrats would most certainly vote for him as well. He needs to outpace the RINOs and scumbags like Christie and Romney and the rest, but he stands a great chance of sweeping the swing states if he secures the primary nomination, sure. I absolutely believe that. What was your question?

And this is why that even if he ends up with the GOP nomination, I will not be able to support him. If Newtown had happened with him as POTUS, I believe he would have been able to get the Republican Congress to give him something. It is harder for them to say no to a President of their own party. So if he is the nominee, I will join the millions of people that just stay home I guess. That would be the first election I have missed since 1980.

Pfft. If the Dems run Hillary, the conservative base would line up to vote for a child molesting satan worshipper in drag.

I think you underestimate the discord on the right. Many conservatarians will just stay home rather than compromising. The anti-Clinton angst has faded in comparison to the hatred of mainstream i.e. big government Repubs.

The Republican tent is not big enough to cover the varying principles of those who consider themselves conservative. There can be no realistic coalition that can include those who wish to legislate morality and those who actually believe in social freedom. Mainstream Repubs love big government almost as much as the radical left. They just want to use it towards different purposes. This is a fundamental disconnect that cannot be bridged.

What? You missed voting for Reagan?

Anyway, the fat ass puss bag is a big government, "spying on Americans is okay because 'safety'", "no one needs an assault rifle", authoritarian, statist pig. In fact, except for some fiscal issues, I suspect Hilary may be slightly to the right of him on other political issues. I would still go out and vote if he got the nomination, but not for him or Hilary. Maybe I'll vote for the libertarian if he or she is not too insane.
