Stopped at my regular liquor store this morning and the young lady greeted me with, "We got another bottle of Weller's and I put it aside for you..." Already had it in a bag for me....She said she has had a few non regulars come in and ask but she held it back for me...

I am a happy man this morning....We got kin in town from Argentina and Texas over the Holiday and I just finished off my last bottle...Best bourbon for the money out there IMHO...

With the apparent popularity of Weller’s I’m surprised we don’t see more wheated bourbons coming out. Larceny out of Heaven Hill is pretty decent but the Weller’s is definitely better.

Speaking of Christmas, Makers Mark is having their annual candle light tour tonight and again next Saturday night.
Usually have a nice selection of bottles :)

2018 World Whiskey of the Year goes to Colonel E.H. Taylor Four Grain. With a score of 97.5 out of 100...I see some varieties listed online for under $50 too.

I was really surprised by 4 grain. I have 2 bottles but haven't cracked then open because of the rarity. I got to try some finally in Kentucky last night. Lot of spice to it and a long finish and it has more burn than usual 100 proofs. Good, not sure on bourbon of the year though

That being said I spent a rediculous amount in Bourbon and whiskey over the weekend. Kentucky trips always get me

Anyone who likes 1792 bourbon and is in the NW corner of the state should stop at LAKE LIQUORS in Cedar Lake.

They have a barrel pick of 1792 Single Barrel FULL PROOF in stock while the supply lasts.

I'm not normally a fan of 1792 but this one is pretty good.

Damn, and I thought the 1792 Single Barrel Store Pick I got last week was something to look forward to, but full proof? Nice

I'll answer your question however I must preface it first. I like the following Bourbons, may like more but I only buy and drink these and kind of snub my nose at anything else cause I like what I like....
Makers Mark and 46, Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve and that's about it.

I got a bottle of Breckenridge last year for Christmas from my guys at the firehouse and wow, it is hands down the smoothest whiskey I have ever consumed. It's 86 proof but tastes like it's 26. I know my guy got it at Costco and when I'm out I'm getting a membership to Costco to get more.

Picked up a couple of bottles recently:

    1) High West American Prairie, Big Reg special single barrel
    2) Tanner's Creek, another big red special single barrel

I haven't cracked any open, but joining the big red VIP thing is costing me money and building up bottles ;)
