From the description in the article, I am guessing "mumbler" wandered into the wrong theater, was confused as to why it was a) already full, and b) already had a movie playing. Panic ensued.

If I stampeded from a theater every time I saw someone "odd", I'd never get passed the previews.

I have to agree with Kut on this one. We read constantly on INGO the need for situational awareness. While it may have escalated to a panic level, it looks like people did have their eyes open and were mindful of what was going on.

Situational Awareness means keeping an eye on him.
Like I said, if I left based on that behavior described, I'd NEVER get anything done.
